Has your child recently experienced a significant illness or injury? Griffith University’s School of Applied Psychology is inviting parents or primary caregivers of children aged 6-12 years old, who were diagnosed with serious and chronic illnesses, including epilepsy, or have experienced a potentially life-threatening injury, to participate in a research study. The purpose of this research is to understand parents’ experiences, emotional functioning, and parenting responses after their child has had a significant illness or an accidental injury. The information collected will be used to understand how to better support parents and their children following this experience. You can participate by either completing a 40-minute parent interview or completing a 30-minute parent survey and a 5-minute child survey, or both. Parents who complete the interview will be offered a $20 gift card. Thank you!** Adults’ Perceptions of Childhood Experiences We are seeking adult research participants for a one-time completely online survey. We’re examining adults’ perceptions of various childhood experiences and their responses to questions about childhood development. Participants will need to be 18-50 years of age, be able to read/write English well enough to complete the survey, and have reliable internet access. Participation is voluntary and should last approximately 15-20 minutes.
