#Hybrid #manufacturing is one of the best ways to show the power or #AM One of the best ways to make people understand how powerful this #technology is. #LFAM isn't the exception: there's no magic and most likely each project still needs some degree of checking and tweaking (for now at least). Still, here you can see that your choice of #software certainly has a big #impact in the #results and therefore #costs. CNC operators should be familiar with setting up a work coordinate system (G54)! Did you ever try to do this on a large format 3D printed part? We have been working on improving efficiency in milling and especialy reducing operator errors. This is the reason we developed our in-house 3D scanning solution! If you ever tried to align a 3D printed part with a cnc machine, you will be familiair with the difficulties. This new tool and automated workflow is designed for automated aligning large-format 3D-printed parts for CNC milling. Usually, your material blank has straight edges, allowing you to use an edge finder to align the work coordinate system with your material. However, large-format 3D-printed parts are often curved and frequently utilize freeform shapes, making it difficult and time-consuming to find the correct work coordinates. This is critical, as an incorrect setup could result in a scrapped part, wasting both the material and the time invested in printing. Our automated workflow provides the confidence that your milling toolpath is correctly aligned with the part before milling begins, preventing costly errors that could be discovered too late. #Scan2Mill, developed by CEAD Group and integrated into ADAXIS, AdaOne x Flexbot software, addresses these challenges! https://lnkd.in/gWKvPT59

How can craft enterprises benefit from additive manufacturing? #amber - the additive manufacturing network for Berlin-Brandenburg has invited to a workshop today together with the chamber of crafts Berlin. MotionLab.Berlin is the perfect venue for this event where our colleague Karsten S. presents the advantages of WAAM using the examples of a die set for deflashing forged parts. 🔧 In tests, the tool's service life was increased by at least sixfold compared to a traditionally manufactured die set. Our experience from more than 200 component projects makes us experts in the Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) process. The quality plays an important role. Components manufactured using WAAM even surpass the quality of conventionally manufactured parts. The yaw damper bracket of Alstom is a good example of a qualified component.
