MEMS - Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services was busy over the past 3 days as we hosted and/or taught Advanced Trauma Life Support and Arkansas Trauma Evaluation and Management (A-TEAM) for docs, APP’s, and nurses from all over the state in collaboration with the Arkansas Trauma Society, as well as CPR and Stop The Bleed for local Boy Scouts, and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care for multiple officers from around the state. We’ll reach far beyond our own service area to improve trauma care around the state for all.
Our first TECC course of #2024 starts January 11th! TECC is suitable for people working in civilian #highthreat#prehospital environments.
NAEMT’s Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course presents the three phases of tactical care and integrates parallel EMS nomenclature:
- Hot Zone/Direct Threat Care that is rendered while under attack or in adverse conditions.
- Warm Zone/Indirect Threat Care that is rendered while the threat has been suppressed but may resurface at any point.
- Cold Zone/Evacuation Care that is rendered while the casualty is being evacuated from the incident site.
TECC courses have been designed to improve the quality of trauma care and decrease mortality.
