Thank you Lucy Miller. I wanted to write something for IWD. Should I thank my Mom and my sister? - two strong and wonderful women. Should I thank the allies of strong women? Yes I will do both of this things. But Lucy, your post is the one to highlight. We have achieved so much but also need to remember that collectively we have more to do. 131 year to achieve gender parity for pay. Investing in women is investing for a better world. #investinwomen
This year's IWD theme 'Inspire Inclusion' wasn't really doing it for me so I did a bit of digging and discovered that the real theme for IWD 2024 as per the UN is #InvestInWomen Accelerate Progress. It will take another 131 years to reach gender parity according to the World Economic Forums's Global Gender Gap Report of 2023. 131 years. The World Economic Forum's update on progress is a good read to understand the global challenge and for ideas on how we can work together globally to accelerate progress.

An extremely sobering reminder by the World Economic Forum especially this #internationalwomensday2024 on gender parity in relation to the #unsdgs. We really have a LONG way to go! It pains me to think that we have actually regressed on gender equality efforts since 2015, but there’s still hope if we have reached the halfway mark in achieving the #unitednations #sustainabledevelopmentgoals towards 2030. We, at FINDFASHIONAFRICA echo the same sentiments with the UN Women campaign in that we have to do more to #investinwomen, especially towards achieving #sdg5 which focuses on the promotion of #genderequality, and we believe that stronger, and more intentional public-private multi-stakeholder #partnershipsforthegoals as per #sdg17, particularly for #tradedevelopment and #export training of #womenentrepreneurs can help achieve that! #UNSDGs #investinwomen #genderequality #internationalwomensday
The world is more than halfway towards the 2030 #SDG deadline, but targeted progress for women and girls is falling behind. Learn more from the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap report: https://ow.ly/nx3E50QLPw5 UN Women United Nations

Africa’s capital markets have a role and an opportunity to drive gender equality forward through improving women’s access to capital to start and grow their businesses. There are several financing instruments that they could use to achieve this. Gender bonds are a key one. At FSD Africa, we are proud to have demonstrated the viability of gender bonds in Tanzania and Morocco and look forward to seeing more bonds coming to market across the continent, especially now that a gender bonds toolkit is available to potential issuers.
Finally launched: a toolkit on the design and issuance of gender bonds #Africa! Together with the FSD Network Gender Collaborative Programme, British International Investment and UN Women, we were proud to unveil this comprehensive guideline that aims to not only simplify the process but also to build a robust pipeline of gender lens investing opportunities towards sustainable growth and inclusivity across the continent. #GenderBonds #InspiringInclusion #Pinclusion #GenderEquity

Counting down to international women’s day 2024! Every year, the world makes exceptions for 8th March to celebrate the achievements of women in history, present and future who are bringing about change on gender balance globally. Although recent statistics postulated that it will take the world nearly 130years to achieve gender equality, which means that a good number of people reading this will not be here by then, but we believe that our efforts today will translate this statistics to reality whether we’re still here to experience it or not. With this year’s theme ‘inspire inclusion’ Palladium Nigeria Social Development TCCG is focusing a fire chat session on 'Advancing Women inclusion by Building Knowledge and Practice in Financial Investment' led by experts in this sector. This is going to be an engaging session, discussing step-by-step frameworks on types of investments, how to invest, access to finance, expected returns and CHALLENGES peculiar to women. This is a hybrid session, and I will keep us updated with the link to join us virtually. #iwd2024 #inspireinclusion #internationalwomensday2024 #palladium #PalladiumNigeria #inspirechange #makeitpossible #womenempowerment #genderequality #genderequity #genderbalance Palladium: Make It Possible Oiza Nicholson Eric Umoru Anurika Nwoke Precious Oliaku Abigail Ogbonna @evelynugbe
