Principals, Want to Ignite Your School Culture? Stop wishing, start leading! Here's your secret sauce: 🎯Lead by example: If you want your teachers and students to follow you demonstrate to them that you value their respect, accountability, and enthusiasm for learning. Deeds speak louder than words. 🎯Empower Others: Invest in their leadership development, delegate work to them, and encourage them to shine. They will surprise you with their accomplishments! 🎯Be Visible and Accessible: Presence in the school, classrooms, and events makes you visible and accessible. Being visible shows that you are committed and available to the school community. 🎯Address Challenges Proactively: Deal with problems ahead of time. Problems are inevitable; the key is to meet them head-on, optimistically and with a plan. Keep in mind that difficulties can sometimes be opportunities! 🎯Take Care of Yourself: No one can give what they don't have, so make sure you take care of yourself first. In order to be a better leader for everyone, you need to make time for things that recharge you. Get ready to put these recommendations into action! Does a typical day for a school leader even exist? "I have learned that building a positive school culture daily, counts for everything." I reflect here for The International Schools Network on handling unexpected challenges, building strong school cultures, and the unpredictability of leadership roles “As a leader going into a school for the very first time, the sage advice always remains the same, listen and learn about the culture, people and organisation. Do not make whimsical or capricious changes for their own sake but only when you understand the school and what is needed. Or not needed.” #Leadership #Schools #challenge #SchoolLeadership #Headteacher #Principal #Moldova HMC (The Heads' Conference) COBIS - Council of British International Schools Cambridge International Education British Council British Council Partner Schools Global School Leaders Global School Alliance Salzburg Global Seminar Nord Anglia Education RSAcademics Anthony Millard Consulting Pearson The PIE ISC Research GlobalWelsh Fundación Varkey Nordic Network of International Schools New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) Tes Heritage International School ECIS, the Educational Collaborative for International Schools International Baccalaureate Council of International Schools International Curriculum Association
