The month of July is Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental health struggles for the BIPOC community are unique in nature due to the complex interactions between BIPOC individuals and their environments. ETR’s Health Equity Framework (HEF) breaks those complex interactions down by four spheres of influence. ➡ Relationships and networks ➡ Individual factors ➡ Systems of power ➡ Physiological pathways As a health equity organization, we acknowledge these intersectional factors and remain dedicated to doing the work to help BIPOC individuals where they need it most to achieve their best health. Learn more about the HEF, spheres of influence, and how you can apply it to your mental health equity work at our website: https://hubs.la/Q02DVTmZ0 #BIPOC #HealthEquity #Healthcare #BIPOCHealth #PublicHealth #Health #Intersectionality #NonProfitHealth #Equity #MentalHealth

I help community organisations, local govt & passionate individuals in rural areas who want to prioritise wellbeing in their community | Award Winning I Ambassador for ANZMHA | Motivational Speaker | Coach & Consultant
Have you ever felt frustrated by generic solutions & support for mental health? Do you wish they would take into consideration the local needs and unique circumstances in your rural community? This is such a common frustration in rural areas. The thing is that no-one knows a community better than the people who live or work there. While generic solutions are often well-intentioned when we utilise the strengths that already exist within a community, we can create common sense solutions that actually address the issues and target the areas that need attention. FOR EXAMPLE… While a generic solution may have a service that requires locals to travel a long way, a collaborative team may be able to work with local providers to bring services closer or find a way to get community members to the service While there may be a school programme to address disrespectful behaviour, instead a community action team may be able to look at this community issue from many perspectives and make it a focus area for not only schools, but also local sporting clubs and community groups leading to a greater impact and cultural shift in behaviour. 💬 Share Your Experience: What specific mental health needs does your community have? What challenges is your community facing that don’t seem to addressed by current generic solutions? Comment Below 👇 Remember, your community is waiting for YOU. Together, we can achieve more targeted and effective support. You got this! #MentalHealthMatters #CommunityCare #CustomizedSolutions #LocalSupport #TailoredWellbeing #MentalHealthMatters #RuralWellbeing #ThinkEffective #CommunityChange #MentalHealthReform
