And so we conclude our recruitment process for this year. A huge thank you to Lorna Slane for all her hard work making the process run so smoothly and to our Training Principal, Graduate Recruitment Team and Final Interviewers 👏 🙌 I am so excited to have such an amazing group of future trainees joining us over the next couple of years. The really difficult thing about recruiting 2 years ahead is not getting to welcome them into the firm straight away! But I'll look forward to keeping in touch and it's only 5 weeks to go until the trainees we recruited 2 years ago join us 🎉 I've learnt so much from the candidates we've seen this year, both those who were successful and those who didn't quite make it this time (we hope you come back fighting next year!). Thank you to all of you for sharing your experience, anecdotes, knowledge, jokes, strengths, weaknesses, highs and lows with us during the process! Here are a few of the things you've all taught me this season: 💡 AI is going to radically alter the future for law firms, and the next generation of lawyers aren't scared of that. 💡 I've learnt absolutely masses about my own firm - your research skills are impressive, you know more than me! 💡 Everyone's journey is different, and not every journey is easy. Some of you have overcome huge adversity to get to where you are now and I've been inspired by your stories. 💡 Interviews are daunting - some of you will have surprised yourselves with how nervous you were, and how well you did to manage those nerves. Do not underestimate the value of interview practice, every interview you do will hone this skill, regardless of whether you were made an offer at the end of it. 💡 You've helped me to learn more about my fellow interviewers, by asking them really insightful questions - especially why they enjoy working at WH and what their career highlights have been. 💡 I need to up my extra-curricular game - between the interviews I've done I think you've covered every sport, musical instrument, award and achievement going. 💡 Billions of emails are sent every working day in the UK (if you know you know…) Want to be a future Ward Hadaway Trainee? Applications will open again on 1st November 2024 👀
We are delighted to announce that we have concluded our recruitment for the Training Contract starting in 2026! Look out for our future trainees sharing the fantastic news of their training contract offers and please join us in congratulating their success! 🎉👏

Creating a #mentorship program for us at Halbert Hargrove was extremely organic. We created the program because we saw a need for it, and it's been extraordinary to help new #employees get up to speed at the company. It has even helped us see when an employee is better suited for a different role, increasing employee tenure and boosting morale. To learn more about the many benefits of a #mentorshipprogram and how to get started, read my recent Forbes article - https://lnkd.in/ghWgY48k
At Halbert Hargrove, our #mentorship program is vital to welcoming new employees and getting them up to speed, not only on their job responsibilities but also on our company #culture. This program has helped create an open conversation throughout the company, allowing all employees, regardless of experience level, to learn and grow together. To learn more, read our #CEO JC Abusaid’s recent Forbes article here: https://lnkd.in/ghWgY48k

Meet Peta Latimer Chartered FCIPD, a mentor with the #HerWorldMentorshipProgramme2024: Before she joined Mercer Asia, the largest human capital consulting business in the world, Peta's career journey began in finance. “I wanted to be a stockbroker and make a lot of money,” she recalls. “So I studied finance and economics, but after six months working in front of a computer, I found it so boring.” And so, she eventually transitioned into a graduate programme within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company, where she realised that what she truly cared about was the management of people and initiatives. Her path eventually led her to pursue a master’s degree in psychology, augmenting her understanding of human behaviour, and further igniting her passion for people. At Mercer, renowned for its data-driven insights across careers, workforce health and institutional wealth, Peta’s role as a strategic leader spans 11 diverse markets across Asia. Her mission is clear: to tailor Mercer’s solutions to meet the unique labour market demands of each region. Reflecting on her journey, Peta offers invaluable advice for those looking to switch careers: “You must think about your career as a game of skill acquisition. Every job you take should be about gaining new skills and learning. The more skills you acquire, the faster you’ll move up the career ladder, and the more opportunities you’ll have. Your career growth will be broader and more dynamic if your skills are versatile and adaptable. Being a woman in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) can often mean being the lone female voice in meetings, or the unintentional target of unconscious biases. For the second year of our Her World Mentorship Programme, we want to empower young women by providing them the tools, guidance, and support needed to break down these barriers and overcome limiting beliefs. Nine exceptional mentors – each with a wealth of experience and expertise – tell us why they are passionate about giving back and share the wisdom they’ve gleaned throughout their careers. Never a dull moment at Better Organised during APDO Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers National Organising Week! - Editing basement belongings with a client who is preparing to downsize. Some long-forgotten treasures were found 😍 - A presentation on Overwhelm at the monthly APDO Productivity Group meeting. We explored how we can best support clients who are experiencing the emotional and physical effects of this powerful feeling. - Helping a mature student to organise her workspace in advance of a new academic term. - Collaborating with my APDO professional development teammates and board members as we plan for 2025's programme of training events for professional organisers in the UK and beyond. - Supporting a long-term client to create space and clarity in her kitchen and wardrobes as her health and lifestyle needs change. I'm now looking forward to a couple of days to recharge ahead of another busy and varied week!
