Local toy drives have a special place in our hearts because they directly impact the lives of children in our very own community. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a world of difference to a child who may otherwise go without a gift during the holidays. By donating to local drives, you're not only spreading joy but also fostering a sense of togetherness and compassion. Where can you donate? Big Brothers and Big Sisters of RI: This local organization collects clothing and soft fabrics for children in need and distributes them to families within the community. You can donate to their bins at the VFW as well as the Cup Defenders on Wood St. Bristol Police Department: They often host a holiday toy drive, and donations can be dropped off at their headquarters. Local Churches: Many churches in Bristol actively participate in toy drives during the holiday season. Check with your local parish to see if they have a collection. Schools and Community Centers: Keep an eye out for toy collection bins at your local schools or community centers. If we can become aware of others and what the community is hosting this holiday season, one purchase, one drive, one thought can directly impact someone else this holiday season for the better. 📣 A survey of 9,000 teachers in England has found that one in four brought food into school out of concern for hungry pupils.   We get good to eat food to 2,000 charity and community groups that provide after school, holiday, and breakfast clubs to children and young people. Many families have become reliant on these over the summer holidays.    The cost of living crisis has forced many of these schools to move from catering breakfast clubs during termtime to passing on food to parents via food banks, pantries, and other support services. Maria Guzman, Thank you and the Windsor Communities team for helping those in need. Your work not only helps people in need, but is a fantastic way to develop leadership in your group. How so? The best leadership is all about high-trust relationships. One of the most powerful ways to build trust is to genuinely love your people. When they know you love them, the result is deeper engagement, commitment, and productivity. When you/Windsor do community service, you literally practice love for others. Every time you practice love, you become a more loving person, leader, and parent--building higher trust, higher performance leaders and teams--at work and home--in the process.

Community impact? The primary impact of this firms business model increases homelessness (currently at 10K+ homeless people on any given night) by gentrifying neighborhoods and forcing people who make less money out. "Global day for people and planet" yet the firm musters up 2 small bins of mostly dog and cat food...this doesn't even align. How about taking on projects that actually help to reduce the number of homeless people in the city instead of ones that are for the affluent population and for corporations to profit from. I hope other architecture studios in Toronto can learn from these fake displays of positive community impact. Many studios like this promote themselves as doing good but really at a foundational socio-economic level, they drive some of the biggest problems in the city. #thinkcritically #communityimpact #torontohomeless
