"Brake (2023) is advocating for safer roads around schools by proposing a speed limit of 20mph. This initiative, promoted by Brake, a leading road safety charity, aims to reduce the risk of accidents and protect children during their commute. By implementing lower speed limits, we can create a safer environment for students, parents, and teachers alike. Road Safety Week is Brake, the road safety charity's biggest road safety campaign. Every year, thousands of schools, organisations and communities get involved to share important road safety messages, remember people affected by road death and injury, and raise funds to help Brake care for more road victims and campaign for safe roads for everyone. This is something that tends to go under the radar in a number of schools. But from my own experiences is an extremely important issue. Having witnessed a number of children involved in car related accidents during my time as a teacher. Are you doing anything in your schools to promote Road Safety Week? #roadsafety #roadsafetyweek

This week is #RoadSafetyWeek when thousands of schools, organisations and communities get involved to share important road safety messages, remember people affected by road death and injury, and raise funds to help Brake, the road safety charity care for more road victims and campaign for safe roads for everyone. ❤️ This year's theme is SPEED. Five people die on UK roads every day, so why do we still think it’s OK to speed? When it comes to road safety, speed matters. In a crash, 1mph can mean the difference between life and death, but we know that people still regularly break speed limits or travel too fast for the conditions of the road. 🚚🚗🚙🏍️ The formula is simple: the higher the speed, the longer the stopping distance, the harder the crash, and the greater the risk of death and injury. Do you know your stopping distances?

65% of children are afraid of going back to school because of bullying. As part of my #BackToBullying campaign for charity The Diana Award, I created this school uniform display stunt that stunned shoppers at Westfield over the bank holiday weekend. Watch how the public reacted: https://lnkd.in/ehg-4Y4m Made with Revolt, Sarah Levitt, Orlando Warner. 🔥 Big thanks to production designer Jenny Dee and producer Julie Cook (who stayed up until 5am with me to install this!), to our brilliant client partners Alex Holmes, Jamilah Simpson, Caz Pike, and to Westfield for giving us the space. 🙏🏻

Five people die on UK roads every day, so why do drivers still think it’s OK to speed? Brake, the road safety charity, is asking this question during Road Safety Week 2023. At E-Training World, we know the dangers of speeding. That’s why our driver training includes modules specifically designed to raise awareness of using both safe and legal speed and reduce the risk of accidents due to speeding. #roadsafety #speedawareness #roadsafetyweek #drivertraining https://lnkd.in/dMwHTCf

#DidYouKnow that your total stopping distance increases significantly the faster you drive? At 20mph your total stopping distance is 12 metres. At 30mph, this increases to 23 metres. For #RoadSafetyWeek, we are educating our team members on the importance of road safety. Our signatures have all been updated with the Brake charity campaign information, and we are talking about speed through internal communications throughout the week. Let’s all come together to keep within the correct speed limits from today and make the roads safer for everyone. #SaferHealthierPlanet #CawoodRoadSafetyWeek #DriveSafely
