Here is Julian Bright of Fairgo.ai Fairgo.ai is building an AI powered talent acquisition agent for screening candidates using live conversational video interviews. Julian has been working in technology for over 20 years, so like many hiring managers, have experienced the challenge first hand when it comes to hiring great candidates. During 4 years at Amazon I participated in many hiring interviews or “loops” where I witnessed a well-honed process that still only resulted in 5% of applicants landing a job. Prior to that I spent 6 years at SEEK building products to improve search and recommendations for millions of candidates and hirers.Problem: When an employer posts a new job ad online, they often receive 100s or 1000s of applications, but only end up interviewing a small fraction of candidates in the pipeline. This volume increase is due in part to candidates using technology to tailor and automate the application process, making it difficult to differentiate between qualified candidates.Solution: Our AI agent can interview all relevant candidates using a live conversational video interview. This provides candidates the opportunity to demonstrate their experience by answering a series of questions relevant to the role supported by follow up questions, which captures more data than high-level screening phone calls or traditional one-way video interviews. The whole process is not only faster, but fairer as it reduces the unconscious bias that is prevalent in many traditional hiring practices.
