Chickens bred to grow abnormally large unnaturally fast suffer tremendously. Many collapse, become unable to reach food or water, and suffer agonizing deaths as a result. 😢 Muscle damage, respiratory problems, bone infections, lameness, heart disease, organ failure, and intestinal problems are also common. Take action: Whole Foods promised to eliminate these cruel breeding practices from its chicken supply chain by 2024. Urge Whole Foods to share clear progress and a plan for banning ultrafast-growing breeds from its supply chain. Sign the petition at https://lnkd.in/gvG7jU_C. As we strive for a #thriving and #sustainable dairy industry, we continue to nurture the future through next level Calf rearing/care trainings to farmers and farm workers big and small. Proper calf rearing practices ensure optimal growth, health, and immune system development, reducing the risk of disease and enhancing the overall resilience of the herd. Needless to say well-nurtured calves are more likely to reach their full genetic potential, leading to higher milk production in adulthood. By investing in excellent calf rearing, our dairy farmers cultivate a strong and healthy foundation for their operations, ensuring the long-term success and profitability of their dairy farms and the industry at large.

Absolutely! Your post highlights a critical issue. It's alarming to see the average consumption of sugar and flour, which contributes significantly to the health crisis we face today. The shift towards ultra-processed foods has indeed distanced us from nutrient-dense, whole foods that are essential for our well-being. It's vital to educate and encourage more people to embrace a diet rich in natural, minimally processed foods. Simple changes, like increasing fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, can make a profound difference in our health. Let's keep spreading awareness and support each other on this journey to better health!
Ultra-processed food is the exact opposite of real, nutrient-dense food. Evidence clearly demonstrates that whole, nutrient dense, minimally or unprocessed food is the healthiest option for humans. Unfortunately, the modern American has strayed far from that reality. For example, the average American consumers 152 pounds of sugar and 133 pounds of flour each year - which creates the crisis we're now experiencing. As Chairman of the Food Fix Campaign, I’m educating lawmakers on the critical need to fix America’s broken food system and slow the prevalence of chronic disease in our country. Visit foodfix.org to help.
Why is Ultra-Processed Food such a problem?

Food producers in the US contribute to the health of Americans by adding #vitamins and #minerals to products such as #enriched wheat flour and #fortified breakfast cereals. This move prevents 1,300 #BirthDefects of the brain and spine each year! But a recent Food Fortification Initiative (FFI) market assessment in California and Texas found that only 13% of corn masa flour, corn tortillas, tostadas, and taco shells in the stores surveyed were fortified with #FolicAcid. If these corn masa products were fortified, hundreds of additional birth defects of the brain and spine could be prevented each year. Join the movement for change and learn how you can start fortifying corn masa products with folic acid: <https://lnkd.in/exVAcUNt> #MejorConÁcidoFólico Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HHS Office of the Secretary, FDA, Center for Science in the Public Interest, Global Fortification Data Exchange (GFDx) #HealthyBeginnings / #PrincipiosSanos #FortifyWithFolicAcid #InMyFolicAcidEra/ #MiEraDeÁcidoFólico
