Please join us for our upcoming SPE HyFTS January 2024 Webinar with Mark Pearson, President & CEO of Liberty Resources LLC. The presentation will review the results of taking three 40/70 mesh proppants commonly used for multi-stage horizontal well slickwater completions in North America and testing them at 0.5 lb/ft2 over 1000-hours of "extended time” at stress and temperature conditions representative of the Bakken formation of North Dakota. Results presented give clear insight to the degree of damage occurring in the reservoir due to time at stress and temperature. The API Standard 19-D procedure for conductivity testing was followed for the tests, but with the proppant concentration loaded at 0.5 lb/ft2 to represent a slickwater proppant pack, and all tests run at 250⁰F regardless of the proppant material type. The extended time tests enabled calculation of the Conductivity Degradation Factors (LCDF) for each proppant type. Degradation for all materials is extrapolated to the point of zero residual conductivity, and compared to previous extended term testing for 1# and 2# proppant packs. When: January 9th, 2024, 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM Central Time (US and Canada) Register in advance for this meeting: https://lnkd.in/g7Dhdz7W After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

🦉 It's time for some #WednesdayWisdom with Oilfield Technology 💡 This week we are looking back at an article from our Autumn 2023 issue, where Ming Yang, TÜV SÜD, discussed the different methods used to measure oil-in-water, and the rise in online analysis techniques. 💬 "Measurement of OiW is a specialised subject. Whilst reference methods are vital in OiW in definition and compliance monitoring, alternative methods are also important for operations and convenience. Use of online OiW analysers, which are part of alternative OiW measurement methods, has increased in recent years for operations and for discharge reporting purposes. Online analysers offer many benefits by providing minute-by-minute information, reducing the need for manual sampling and analyses and potentially offering more accurate OiW discharge information." Nice little rig setup... Things to check: Tight hoses with no leaks Proper containers for pressure test reservoir Plant nappy under petrol equipment and far away from main Flow meters used Correct standpipes with correct double check valve Proper proportional dosing equipment If you aren't seeing these from your commissioning company then ask why not! This should all be standard issue, you need your commissioning company to reflect the high quality work YOU do and as they are one of the last people to turn up on site these are the people that are remembered. Don't let them tarnish your reputation with your client! #mainscommissioning
