A quick tip for my fellow Optometrists about presenting Atropine to parents. Myopia management is not about the drops or the lens. It's about enrolling their child into a good myopia management program. Which means is that we're simply not prescribing drops. We must measure and monitor their child's myopia progression. Parents have a lot of questions about Atropine. I recorded my call with about 50 Optometrists recently on some of the ways I do it in my practice. Here's a short clip. We consider CFM to be a broad term that includes the following diagnoses: microtia, hemifacial microsomia, Goldenhar syndrome, and Oculo-Auriculo-Vertebral Spectrum (OAVS).
