We are proud to name John Che, HR Generalist, May's employee of the month! With almost 8 years with MPH, his dedication to supporting his colleagues and exceptional problem-solving skills elevates not only his team, but our company. Congratulations, John! 🎉
I actually has a biology degree. Human resources is like very new to me since I transfer since 2022. I'm always learning. My name is John Chai. I am my HR journalist. I've been working in Metro since July 2016. I like working in Metro Plus as a very family oriented company, fuel area at home. As a journalist, I pretty much addressed any HR related questions. I help onboard new staff. I was an MLTC before I learned a great deal in HR John has been with our team for about two years now, but he's been with Metro. Plus for eight years. So he's really seeing the organization grow and he's brought that to our team in these last two years here. He gets to interact with and support a broad range of employees in our call center, our MLTC departments. He's their first point of contact for any HR related matters. He's really taken to human resources in a way that I genuinely appreciate as his manager. I'd really like to help help people a lot of. Have come to us with, you know, various HR issues At the end of the day, like if I'm able to assist them addressing their questions, then I really enjoyed what I do every day.

Happy International HR Day to all my fellow HR professionals! 🎉
Working in HR isn’t easy.
We are often the “bearer of bad news”, so we end up being the people nobody wants to see walk into the office.
But we also do a lot of a great work.
We help people find jobs and advance in their career.
We support people when they are in need of accommodations or LOA’s.
We are there when people need to report misconduct.
We help to maintain fairness and equity in the workplace.
The list could go on forever…
Don’t let the negetive sterotype of HR get you down.
Take today to celebrate your wins and the good you do for people everyday.
Local HR Professionals, let me know if you're planning to attend the Annual IL SHRM Conference next month! And if you are, come see me on the stump the lawyers panel during the closing session!

On the topic of unionisation, Wardynski & Partners' Joanna Dudek says: “Treating employees fairly and ensuring employee contentment are key to help instil in employees the feeling that they do not need to resort to a third party to have good working conditions and a positive working environment”.

You can replace 10 competent employees with 10 more competent ones, but rest assured that one loyal employee with a functional affiliation to the company is better than 10 who lack a sense of belonging.

Conflict Resolution is an essential skill that I value, and I am prepared to tackle any challenge that comes my way. Utilizing a checklist to navigate through the process has proven to be highly beneficial. Remember, while not every request can be accommodated, giving your best effort is key. ☑️

Working in HR offers a rewarding and dynamic experience, but it also comes with its fair share of challenges.
HR professionals take on diverse responsibilities, from managing the employee experience from beginning to end to ensuring compliance with labor laws. They are people-centric, problem-solvers, and strategic partners, continually learning and evolving in their roles.
How many of you can relate to this??
