Exactly. Not because China seeks to be self-sufficient in the minerals needed in batteries. The intent of its “shock and awe” investmemt strategy in Indonesia is to take advantage of Indonesia’s low standards for environmetal protection, labor rights and indigenous rights to be able to produce a cheaper nickel product. Achieving global supply dominance and ability manipulate the global reference price (LME) through oversupply of low cost, low standard nickel is the goal. The objective is to use that dominance and price leverage to undermine the economic standing of nickel producers outside of China and thwart the nascent policy efforts of the IRA to build up secure supply chains in the US. and allies like Australia and Canada. We are seeing this play out in real time with the closure of nickel mines and processing facilities in Australia (and the shelving of expansions). Luckily the US and allies have some of the highest grade deposits of nickel in the world, can harness new innovation in exploration, extraction and mining to be competitive and now have access to the DOE’s Loan Program to finance new (domestic) nickel mines, refineries and recycling. #wecandothis

Gold production increases in Buryatia. Two gold mines “Kholbinsky” and “Irokinda” were merged to increase gold production on the deposits in the Republic of Buryatia. The company “Z GOLD” owning those mines is going to achieve this by long-term development programmes. So taking into account “Irokinda” reserves of 18,5 mt and resources of 21 mt there is going to be involved into service “veins having tendency to develop gold mineralization to the depth, as well as roots of those veins and flanks of the deposit», it is stated on the website of the company. As we can see from this example, deposits and mining companies upgrades and developments are complex and require modern technologies. “TechnoAnalytDevice”, LLC is a company helping the producers to increase their output. We are glad to be at the frontlines of the mining industry! #goldmining, #miningindustry, #xrfanalyzer, #oremining

The swift rise in copper's price to $10,000 a ton just days after BHP Group's surprising move to acquire Anglo American Plc highlights a deep-seated issue in the mining industry — miners are not building enough mines. Osisko Metals stands as a leader among a new wave of mining firms aiming to reinitiate projects in historic mining areas with its Pine Point Project for lead-zinc and the Gaspé Copper Project in Canada. Our goal is to position Osisko Metals as the premier developer of base metals in North America. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gBZ8prbM #Copper #OsiskoMetals #Gaspé #PinePoint

🌟 Big news in the mining world! #Australia’s BHP, the world’s largest mining company, just threw down a $39B bid for Anglo American, one of its rivals. Talk about shaking things up! Why all the fuss? Well, BHP’s eyeing that sweet, sweet #copper market. With the world going for electrification, copper has become the new #gold. Everybody wants it, from the #US to #China. But this deal's not a done deal. There are hurdles aplenty. Rival bids, government red tape, you name it. Plus, negotiating with countries like #Peru and #Chile, who prefer spreading the love to smaller miners, adds another layer of complexity. Still, it’s a wild ride in the mining world. Can’t wait to see how it all pans out! #MiningMovers #BHPvsAngloAmerican #CopperCraze #Coppermarket #EV #Mining 🚀🌍💰

Anglo Asian production ramping up after tailings dam approval @AAZMining #AIM #OTC #AAZ #AGXKF. Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AIM:AAZ, OTC:AGXKF) said it is ramping up to full production after receiving authorisation to raise the tailings dam wall at the Gedabek mine. Construction of the new wall started on 6 August 2024, with the mine now moving towards normalised production again, according to the gold and copper miner. Agitation leaching and flotation production was suspended while approval for the new wall was sought, which resulted in half-year revenues falling to US$13.4 million from US$30.8 million. In 2023, silver demand surpassed supply for the third consecutive year, with the gap expected to widen further in 2024. Primary silver mines contribute approximately only 30% of production, with a significant portion coming as a by-product of mining other metals, such as lead and zinc. These metals are facing their own price pressures leading to mine closures and slowdowns. Recent years have seen stagnation or even a slight decline in overall mining production, due to reduced new projects and limited exploration investments. Looking ahead, unless mining output substantially increases or demand decreases, the silver market is likely to continue experiencing structural deficits, driving up prices and encouraging further investment in silver assets. #silver #ss1 #mavericksprings #sunsilver
