Arras Minerals Corporation (ARK:TSXV) is an early-mover into Kazakhstan focusing on critical minerals exploration and development. The country is emerging as a critical minerals powerhouse globally with increasing engagement by western countries and major mining companies over 2023. Arras announced a strategic alliance with Teck Resources Limited Resources on December 7, 2023 that will result in Teck sole funding an initial US$5m generative exploration program across 1900 square kilometers of the Arras license package for 2024-2025. Teck will then have the option to earn up to 75% interest on up to 4, “designated 120 square kilometer projects” by sole funding exploration and development work for US$47.5m per project. The United States, as Chair of the Minerals Security Partnership (MSP), and MSP partners, announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between LA GENERALE DES CARRIERES ET DES MINES (GECAMINES) and the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC). This milestone collaboration, forged through dialogue among MSP partners, creates a framework for coordination in mineral exploration, production, and processing in alignment with our shared commitment to the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGI)’s development of the Lobito Corridor. The Australian Critical Minerals Conference (#ACMC) kicks off in #Brisbane AMEC Chief Executive Warren Pearce joined a panel discussion on "What government support is needed to accelerate growth in the critical minerals sector?" A timely discussion on the back of the Federal Government's 2024/25 budget announcement, to support the critical minerals sector, with $7 billion committed over the next decade for all 31 critical minerals to drive downstream processing in Australia. This comes via a ten per cent Production Tax Incentive (PTI), aimed to enable the nation to realise the full value of our natural resources.
