Key recommendations: ↗ Revamp the existing system ↗ Expand sample sizes ↗ Encourage more rating agencies ↗ Use advanced tech They also suggest: ↗ Granting infrastructure status to broadcasting ↗ Boosting investment ↗ Streamlining processes ↗ Measuring broadcasting's impact on GDP ↗ Expanding TV reach via broadband ↗ Subsidized schemes for underserved communities As an advertiser, I feel, this is a huge step forward! Accurate audience measurements mean better targeting and ad spend. More rating agencies and advanced tech? Yes, of course! Infrastructure status will attract more investments. This means better content and wider reach. This move will drive growth and innovation. It’s a win for creators and viewers alike. Reflections from my first Future of TV Advertising Global by Adwanted Events (Formerly Mediatel Events) I am grateful to see there are at least 1,200 of us concerned with very similar business problems :) I am empowered by the range of solutions and hypothesis provided… a true reflection that advanced TV players come from diverse backgrounds. AV industry coming together/ growing the whole category is a theme, but acknowledge commercial interests and data gaps maybe a hinderance. Publishers and tech partners remain dominant voices, but look forward to seeing how Marketers will organize to accommodate for odd balls like Roku Advertising (we are not in the streaming wars. We are the field it is being fought on - shoutout to Laura Chaibi 🇨🇦🇬🇧 and Mike Shaw for introducing the idea to the community!) Roku is just getting started in many parts of the world and look forward to shaping what this streaming/ connected/ advanced AV thing could be. Still riding that Super Bowl high? Paramount+, which had the exclusive streaming rights, saw record triple-digit WoW growth during the week of Feb 5th, with a 141% increase in downloads and up 18% for weekly active users. Similarly, YoutubeTV and Fubo, whom carried the big game live via CBS, saw an 87% and 32% increase in downloads, respectively. And, not about to waste this opportunity, Paramount aggressively upped it's US ad spend blanketing channels - Facebook (+255%), Instagram (+230%), Snap Inc. (+177%), and TikTok (+130%) as well as significant increases in Mobile Video, Desktop Display and OTT.
