We successfully tested the world's first textile2hydrogen plant! 🌍🚀 Together with Humana Nova Social Cooperative from Čakovec, DOK-ING successfully tested the world's first innovation for converting textile waste into hydrogen, ash, and soot.💡👕 ♻️ This groundbreaking pilot facility aims to revolutionize textile waste processing, moving away from the current practice of incineration and landfill disposal. With this development project, co-financed by the Innovation Norway funds, the goal was to create LOOPER – the first processing plant addressing the exponential growth of textile waste globally (Europe estimates that textile consumption per capita in 2020 amounted to 14.8 kg, compared to 10.1 kg in 2003). 📈 "LOOPER is capable of processing one ton of textile waste per day and eliminates the need for textile waste landfilling. It prevents approximately 275,100 kg of CO2 emissions annually compared to conventional textile waste treatment methods." SFS Paraćin (Srpska Fabrika Stakla) is having serious investments plans in beverage glass production in Serbia and sorting and recycling capacities. Specifically for Serbia, not in all countries- it depends on collection results - their need is to have glass included in deposit. More on ambitious plans in article that follow:

Stop toxic post-colonialism It’s not everyday I post a message on a more ‘personal’ note but today I’m happy to share a videoclip that goes with a song about ‘toxic colonialism’. The song is a cooperation between my band Alpacas Collective together with artist Nèg Madnick, rapper from Martinique and pioneer of Creole hip-hop. Movéfèzè (read: bad guys) tastes like a cocktail of poetic, lyrical attacks from Madnick, mixed with our Maroonfunky jazz vibes. The images for this video were mostly shot around Chalvet in the north of the island of Martinique. There, 50 years ago, in February 1974, farm workers protested for better working conditions on the (mainly) banana plantations; and for the first time denounced the use of toxic pesticides that made people sick. Two people were shot and many got wounded. The colelctive wounds still did not heal. And exactly 50 years later, there is still no justice for the victims of this intensive pesticide use. The famous 'Chlordécone scandal' left the beautiful island and its inhabitants polluted. Neither the French state nor the agro-industry took responsibility for the damage caused. The 'Chlordécone scandal' is not isolated: still European countries allow agrochemical companies to produce at least 80 different toxic pesticides, banned in Europe, and exported to countries in the South. Thousands of tonnes of toxic pesticides a year. Unfortunately the EU has recently and rather silently dropped it’s good intentions to make an end to these practices. Did you know that out of the 77 million kilograms of Baltic herring harvested in Finland in 2021, only a mere 4 percent ended up as food on Finns' plates? In the aftermath of The European Commission's proposal to ban the fishing of Baltic herring, Helsingin Sanomat shed some light on the uses of our precious resource: A significant majority of herrings harvested in Finland are turned into animal feed. At Volare, we refine food industry side streams such as oat hulls into sustainable insect-based protein that can replace fishmeal in animal feed.
