Hello employers and businesses, please read this neurodiversity in the workplace can boost productivity and innovation. It's not all about adjustments or in my last workplace I heard people whispering oh she's dyslexic she needs support. We all need support in things that we are not proficient in or strategies to improve our work, not just dyslexic and neurodiverse people
I will starting by saying that human beings are in essence diverse. We have different skills, different level of improvement of these skills, different educational background, different life and work experiences, different talents, different personalities. We are unique. And maybe these differences make the world more attractive and more "fun" in terms of relationships any kind. When it comes to the work field, based on that difference we can provide different resources to the projects. And that enriches and sometimes speeds up the innovation process. I have to be sincere but I have never experienced real or true meritocracy at work. This concept was covered by other factors. But I am an advocate of "every person at the right place". When talking about disable people apart from what I have stated before it provides an unique value as human being like everyone. Please leave out the label or the condition. Every person contributes to the "system" with the skills, values or "essence" he/she is able to provide. Talking about disability I have to say that there are skills that are clearly developed above the average because of this intrinsic mental or physical condition: resilience, frustration management and many more. People suffering from disabilities carries an add-on "work-load" which makes them "super-abilitors", depending on the affectation level. That's why I think that like every human being innovation, income, progress, improvement, knowledge and productivity can be achieved or enhanced enriching at the same time the work environment. Enriching can be considered in terms of creating social awareness, providing added-value (based on the elements mentioned before) and above all LEARNING about how to overcome barriers, how to accept in most of the cases a certain condition and not giving up. I would finish by saying that to achieve my mantra "every person at the right position" is imperative to carry out a detailed analysis of the profile of the person being or not being disable. This way we can avoid conflicts, lack of motivation and a huge turnover ration in the organizations.

Before 2020, many workplaces said that they couldn't make accommodations for those with disabilities.
Then...
The pandemic hit, and somehow, remote work was made possible for so many organizations.
However, a few short years later, the need to get back to the status quo has shown that [disability] inclusion may not truly be a value or priority for some.

If a person feels welcome, respected, and fully included in their workplace, they are more likely to stay with that company, receive promotions, and truly thrive!"
When there is a positive workplace culture, people with disabilities are more comfortable disclosing their disability and asking for accommodations if they are needed. That is a crucial aspect of retaining qualified, talented employees.
We award local businesses that employ one or more people with disabilities to acknowledge and celebrate their diverse, inclusive workplace culture. So watch for the “Disability Friendly” sticker on the doors of local businesses!
We would appreciate your help! If you know of a local business employing a person with a disability, please let us know by submitting your nomination using the form linked in the comments.

What is the difference between accessible and inclusive?
Imagine you are invited to a party and when you arrive you're taken to an area that is labelled your area. You can't leave that area. You can only mingle with others if they come to you, but they're not comfortable coming over to you because that area is labelled your area. It's not for them, just for you.
Creating accessible spaces that are inclusive can be a challenge. Disability is not a one size fits all kind of thing.
Talk to your guests, patrons, customers, clients about inclusion. Open a conversation and ask what they need. Listen to their suggestions. Implement different ideas.
We can achieve more of we work together.

absolutely. Support is essential for all, not just those with neurodiverse conditions like dyslexia. Thank you.
