The Art of Being Grateful Why do we always worry about what we don’t have? Why are we often unsatisfied with our progress? We put so much stress and tension on ourselves when life doesn’t go as planned. Count your blessings, name them one by one... Something beautiful happens when we do this. Start by focusing on what is actually going right. If you can’t identify anything, think about what could go wrong right now that would increase your stress or worry. The fact that those things haven’t gone wrong is reason enough to be grateful. While reading The Great CEO Within, I was reminded of the powerful effect of gratitude. It can transform the losing side into the winning side. It can change a person’s demeanor and positively influence the culture of an organization. It is common knowledge that when we are grateful to God, He is moved to do more for us. What we often overlook is the peace and joy that come from appreciating what we already have, not just what we receive. We can never be happy if we don't know how cherish the present moments and the things we already have. It is important to be grateful for everything that we have. It is easy to get caught up in wanting more and feeling like we are lacking in some way. However, alway remember that there are many people who are less fortunate than us and would do anything to have what we have. Instead of focusing on what we don't have, we should focus on what we do have and be grateful for it. Whether it is our health, our family, our friends, or our material possessions, there is always something to be thankful for. By practicing gratitude, we can cultivate a positive mindset and attract more abundance into our lives. It is also important to remember that everything in life is temporary. We may not always have the things that we currently possess, so it is important to appreciate them while we have them. Instead of dwelling on what we don't have, we should focus on making the most of what we do have and cherishing the present moment.
