As we wrap up the week, let’s highlight an important shift in the world of giving. Women are increasingly at the forefront of philanthropy, driving impactful change and redefining how we approach fundraising. From influential figures like MacKenzie Scott and Melinda French Gates to the growing number of women-led funding collectives, it’s clear that women are making significant contributions and leading the way in philanthropy. For nonprofits, this means it’s time to rethink traditional fundraising strategies and engage more meaningfully with women donors. Recognizing the evolving landscape and adapting your approach can open doors to new support and opportunities. Let’s make sure we’re inclusive and responsive to the changing dynamics of giving. #WomenInPhilanthropy #DonorEngagement #NonprofitGrowth #Philanthropy #FridayFocus

Empowering the Future: We're thrilled to announce our proud sponsorship of the Inaugural Go Girls 100km Challenge! Imagine a day where girls from all walks of life unite for a common cause. On Thursday, 17 October at the Melbourne Sports Centre in Albert Park, Year 9 and 10 girls from schools across Victoria will join forces to empower young women through education. With every stride, they will raise awareness and funds to support programs for women at risk, enabling them to pursue their dreams and shape brighter futures. The Go Girls 100km Challenge is more than just an event – it’s a movement. A movement that shatters limitations, fosters perseverance and celebrates every milestone. This spirit of determination and community empowerment is what we embody at Exeden. Why is this event so important? Because it's not just about the kilometres. It's about empowering women, fostering resilience, and breaking down barriers. This aligns perfectly with our core belief that uplifting disadvantaged and underrepresented talent transforms communities. At Exeden, our mission is more than just a statement – it's embedded in our DNA. Every dollar we generate, and every step we take, goes towards uplifting those who need it most across four key causes that have personally touched our lives. In fact, we donate 100% of our annual dividends to organisations committed to making a difference. Our sponsorship of this event is important to us as it aligns with our commitment to drive impactful change where it matters most. Join us in supporting this incredible initiative. Together, we can walk the talk, championing not just the journey ahead but the countless lives we can change along the way. But the Go Girls team and the amazing participants can't do it alone. They need YOU. Rise with them by donating or supporting the Go Girls 100km Challenge. Every contribution propels them forward; every action amplifies our impact. Please donate now and be a part of the change! Let's not just challenge the norms. Let's tackle them head-on. Let's build a world together where purpose and empowerment lead the way. #GoGirls100kmChallenge #CommunityEmpowerment #SocialImpact #BreakingBarriers #EmpoweringWomen #PurposeDriven #ChangeMakers #EmpowerHer #InclusionRevolution #ImpactInvesting #PurposeFirst #RevolutioniseHR https://lnkd.in/ghC-YMzV

So proud of these young women I had the honor of teaching this semester! They created campaigns for Carrie’s Closet, a non-profit organization near and dear to my heart. In honor of our beloved friend and fashionista, Carrie Hamstra, Carrie’s Closet provides boutique-style pop-up shopping experiences for women who are unhoused or experiencing crisis. Loved their insight-inspired campaign concepts: —Insight: Women volunteer and donate so others perceive them as compassionate. Campaign: Be a Compassionista —Insight: Regardless of your economic situation, belonging is essential to survival. Campaign: Find Your Fit —Insight: People donate clothes to absolve themselves for wasteful shopping habits. Campaign: Closet Karma

Thanks so much to Streetlamp Creative for sponsoring this month’s chapter meeting, and to Liz Loreti for speaking to us about women in philanthropy. Here are a few takeaways: ➔ In 90% of high net-worth households, women are either the primary decision maker or an equal partner in philanthropic giving. Development teams should implement strategies that account for the potential of female funders. ➔ To address the underrepresentation of women in senior leadership positions at nonprofits, organizations should focus on providing mentorship, disrupting male-centric norms, and pushing for women to be promoted at the same rates as men. ➔ Women are often motivated by a desire to improve their communities. They tend to give more frequently and are more likely to make long-term charitable commitments. They also frequently include their children in philanthropic decision making, creating a sustainable pipeline of support. To stay on top of trends relevant to nonprofits and fundraisers, don’t miss our monthly chapter meetings. Learn more by visiting: https://bit.ly/49bCE0U

"Motivational Speaker, Corporate & Educational Trainer, & Small Business Coach & Consultant. Hey Freedom, It's Me!
I received an email sharing some eye-opening stats that highlight the ongoing challenges faced by Black-led, Black-benefitting organizations. As a Black founder of a non-profit, I understand firsthand the crucial work needed to address these disparities. In honor of Black Philanthropy Month this August, I invite you to support Freedom In Me Business Showers and our mission to empower small businesses. Every contribution, regardless of size, makes a difference. Visit www.businessshowers.org to donate today! Key stats to consider: - Only 1% of community foundation funding goes to Black-led, Black-benefitting organizations - 76% of these nonprofits operate on less than $500K annually, with a third surviving on just $30K per year - 92% of BLBB nonprofit leaders have lived experience - 43% operate without full-time paid staff - 86% face challenges accessing major funders Let's work together to bridge these gaps and create a more equitable future for all. #BlackPhilanthropyMonth #SupportSmallBusinesses #Equality #NonprofitImpact

Fundraising Coach & Strategist for Ambitious Nonprofit Executives & Development Teams Ready to Raise More 5, 6 and 7-Figure Unrestricted Major Gifts in 6 Months Without Burnout
7 out of the 8 leaders inside CourageLab right now are BIPOC folks. There are more barriers for folks of color, especially Black and Latina women, to raise money. There is gatekeeping. There is selective mentorship. There is bad advice being given to BIPOC folks that isn’t given to white folks. I’ve seen it enough to know. And it’s to make sure they “know their place” and remain a cute, small nonprofit who isn’t threatening or at least doesn’t rock the boat. I say Eff all that. For example, here’s some bad advice: Raise money (it’s your job), but don’t talk about money directly or ask for more from our largest donors, it will jeopardize the relationship. 🤡 This advice was given to my client by their predecessor who I am willing to bet didn’t even follow this advice themselves. I don’t take it lightly that many folks of different ethnicities, cultures and lived experiences trust me to advise, coach and mentor them. The world is inequitable and they don’t allow that reality to define them. It’s incredible to be a part of their journey. It’s an honor. This is why when I see a woman of color, especially a Black woman, out here raising money, I have huge respect. They have had more to overcome and some get better results than people who have had fewer barriers. 👀 This is why I make a disproportionate investment in women of color, particularly Black women, in all aspects of my business and decline working with organizations that have an all white leadership or executive team, when they serve majority people of color in their programs. No thanks. If you acknowledge all white boards, executive teams or leaderships teams is an issue and in the year 2024, you still haven’t fixed it, then you’ve got bigger problems and I’m not for you. Align your budget with your mouth, your website, your claims. Make your stated values your lived values or be honest those aren’t your values. I’m on a mission. It’s the highest calling and greatest honor to support my courageous and incredible clients. They are the type of folks I wanna see become famous and raise tens of millions. #fundraising #majorgifts #nonprofit
