Today's newsletter finished evaluating Region 2 — the Midwest — for hospitals and VA Medical Centers in the U.S. Some surprising takeaways, including South Dakota, where over half its hospitals are considered "top ranked," and Missouri, which is the state with the lowest overall percent of top-ranked #hospitals. Of particular note: VAMCs are consistently among the best in this region; 15 of the 24 were top rated, or 62.5% of them. If you're looking for good health care, look to the Midwest. #healthcare #veteranhealth

Wildly expensive weapons in search of a tactical application — overly complicated failure-prone systems — an inability to fulfill United States Department of Defense demands for basic end items — delusions of grandeur are opening the U.S. defense industry to corruption, and undermining its military's ability to wage modern, combined-arms warfare on short notice. #defenseindustry #manufacturing #corruption
