Charter schools are student-centered and can serve the unique needs of each of their communities in ways that district public schools cannot. In exchange for local autonomy regarding students’ education and wrap-around services, charter schools must meet or exceed the goals laid out in their charter, such as student proficiency and community service. Families often choose public charter schools because they are often run by community leaders and former teachers who want the autonomy to make decisions to best meet the unique needs of their students and their families. Key Academy does just that. https://lnkd.in/gfbZ_AAD #WeAreCharter #Dyslexia #Education #OneSizeDoesNotFitAll #CharterSchools #StudentCentered #PublicCharter #CommunityNeeds #LocalAutonomy #StudentProficiency

Leader |Teacher |Trainer |Coach |Speaker | Providing high quality training and coaching to elevate schools/organizations/businesses with strategies that increase collaboration, community building & creativity!
The White House just dropped the 2024 Education Agenda, and I'm thrilled to share what this means for us and the transformative work we do in education. First off, let's talk about the emphasis on creativity! The agenda's focus on fostering innovation and creativity in education perfectly aligns with our mission at CIG. We believe that creativity is the key to unlocking potential and driving meaningful change in the world. But wait, there's more! The agenda's commitment to culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices? That's my jam! I have been championing these approaches for years, recognizing the power they have to create inclusive and empowering learning environments. And let's not forget about community-centered practices. The agenda's recognition of the importance of community building is literal music to my ears! So, what does all this mean? It means that our work is more relevant and vital than ever before. Together, we can make a difference. Who's with me? #EducationAgenda2024 #CreativeImpact #ChangeMakers 🌟
Last month, the White House released its 2024 education agenda focusing on three evidence-based strategies to accelerate student learning and address pandemic-era learning losses: increase student attendance; provide high-dosage tutoring; and increase summer and extended/afterschool learning time. What does this mean for your organization? Here are our recommendations. https://lnkd.in/eu5WABxK #Education #whitehouse

“It was a completely different experience than the traditional college experience. You’re actually showing what you’re doing with students to demonstrate that you’ve completed the requirements of the course.” – Justin McGill, BloomBoard Rank Change Program Graduate and Middle School Special Education Teacher, Marshall County School District, Kentucky In partnership with select regional service centers, BloomBoard developed a low-cost continuing education option that supports Kentucky teachers in earning rank change to deepen their teaching practice and move them up the pay scale. Districts across Kentucky are investing in this new program to help improve teacher recruitment and retention.
