We've received payment of $3.3 million from Saskatchewan Research Council for sale of stockpiled rare earth material, as announced last month. The sale was facilitated by Natural Resources Canada relating to our stockpiled rare earth material derived from a previous mining campaign on Nechalacho’s North T deposit. We remain focused on developing the Tardiff deposit at Nechalacho and will deliver a Scoping Study for Tardiff in CY2024. Managing Director Lisa Riley said: “Our sale of stockpiled material to SRC is now complete, allowing Vital to derive value from our earlier work at Nechalacho. This allows us to focus on development of Tardiff as a long-life, large-scale rare earths project. A Scoping Study is the next logical step in our pathway and we are on track to deliver the study by the end of 2024. “We expect our newsflow to increase over the coming months as we work towards and achieve milestones towards its completion.” Read the full ASX Announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gRZPRcYe #VML #VitalMetals #REE #rareearths #Canada #ASX #ASXNews

Viridis Mining and Minerals Limited has secured another 998 hectares of licences to extend and adjoin the Cupim South prospect and create a dominant land position in the wake of more spectacular results. Recent intercepts up to 23,556 parts per million total rare earth oxide were the highest grades found to date in the region's alkaline complex, providing Viridis a second major discovery in as many months and a taste of sheer scale. "This expansion marks the final puzzle piece in our plan to consolidate a corridor of landholdings between two major resources and bridge Centro Sul to Cupim South. This has increased the footprint of Cupim South from 1.71 square kilometres to a significant combined corridor of 15.75 square kilometres, comprising granted mining licences, which sets up the potential for Cupim South to be an incredible asset for Viridis concerning both grade and scale." – Viridis CEO Rafael Moreno Agha Shahzad Pervez Carly Terzanidis #Expansion #RareEarths #Mining

Local groups point to disproportionate impact on Indigenous communities in a region with a long history of extraction. This story was published in collaboration with the Island Press Urban Resilience Project. by Stewart Sinclair January 17, 2024 South Dakota’s Black Hills are no stranger to mining. The hills — sacred land to the Lakota — have long been exploited for gold and uranium deposits, the lands scarred and rivers polluted in the process. The area is a relatively small (60 by 100 mile) island of lush trees and rolling hills amid a vast expanse of grasslands, but one in every five acres has an active mining claim. Now, mining companies are eyeing the region for another resource: lithium. https://lnkd.in/ekXAimHa https://lnkd.in/ekXAimHa

⭕️The Shuar People in the Ecuadorian Amazon send this powerful message ahead of Canadian mining company Solaris Resources Inc., ahead of its annual general meeting held in Vancouver TODAY. During this meeting, the company's directors will present financial results and shareholders will vote on the matters discussed, including the future of the ancestral territory of the Shuar Arutam People - PSHA. ☠️The Warintza mining project, in Morona Santiago, in the south of the Ecuadorian Amazon, is a serious threat to the life and integrity of the Shuar Arutam People and the biodiversity of their territory. ✊🏾Indigenous youth that live within the project's impact area, say no to mining and no to the Warintza project. Their message is clear: territory is life and nature must be protected for future generations. 🐚It’s time to amplify the voices in resistance of the Shuar Arutam People.

🐚 It’s time to amplify the voices in resistance of the Shuar Arutam People. The struggle of the Shuar People resonates deeply with the Schompen tribal community in the Nicobar Islands, India, who are also fighting to protect their land from the threat of a transshipment hub project. These communities face similar challenges as they strive to preserve their cultural heritage and the natural environment against industrial encroachments. Let's stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities worldwide as they defend their land and rights. #IndigenousRights #SaveTheAmazon #ShuarResistance #NoToMining #ProtectNature #IndigenousYouth #LandIsLife #Solidarity #Sustainability #EnvironmentalJustice #IndigenousVoices #Ecuador #India #ShompenResistance #GlobalResistance

Indigenous Philippine village rejects gold mine, cites flawed consultation. -Itogon-Suyoc Resources Inc. (ISRI), one of the Philippines’ oldest mining firms, is seeking permission to mine gold from the mountains of Itogon, a municipality in the mineral-rich, majority Indigenous north of the country. -Mining on Indigenous land requires a consultation process, and Itogon communities rejected the company’s application in 2022, citing concerns including water contamination and loss of access for traditional mining activities. The company applied for a new round of consultations in 2023, which resulted in an agreement to allow mining in the area. -Elders from Dalicno, the village that will be most affected if the mining proceeds, say they weren’t informed about the 2023 consultations. The agreement has yet to receive final approval due to irregularities including a lack of photographs or attendance sheets to prove that community consultations actually took place. -Proponents of the mine say those opposing it do so only out of self-interest, while ISRI says existing small-scale mining in the area is more environmentally degrading than the company’s planned operations. source: Mongabay.com read full article: https://bit.ly/3JK2UVQ #WeAreIndigenous #IndigenousPeoples #landproperty

Andrada Mining’s CEO Discussion at the Junior Mining Indaba Join us for an exclusive highlight from Day 1 of the Junior Mining Indaba conference in Johannesburg, where CEO Anthony Viljoen shares Andrada Mining’s remarkable journey and future prospects with Bernard Swanepoel. Discussion Highlights from our CEO: The Geopolitical Landscape and Critical Raw Materials "This geopolitical situation in the critical raw material space is absolutely phenomenal. We are seeing this not only in the tin but very much so in the lithium." - Anthony Viljoen Spectacular Geology in Namibia "What we found in Namibia is the spectacular geology. This geology is characterised by pegmatite belts. They normally run for a couple of hundred metres and pinch out, but what is unique about Namibia is the scale of these things—they run for hundreds of kilometres." Profitability and Future Potential "The mine is profitable on the tin alone, but the cherry on the cake will be integrating the lithium into the circuit." Ambition and Growth "We have a driving ambition to become the next mid-tier miner emerging out of Africa." Strategic Focus "You want to focus on early cash flows, world-class ore bodies that can expand, and that you can bring into production quicker than others." Watch the Full Discussion Listen to the full discussion from [6:25:00 to 6:45:00] here https://shorturl.at/cY7Bo where Anthony Viljoen delves into Andrada Mining’s strategic milestones and vision for the future. The session captures the essence of how Andrada is shaping the mining industry and its goals to expand on mining in Namibia. #Mining #Lithium #Namibia #JuniorMiningIndaba
