I got a degree in Mechanical Engineering but I did not pursue a career in it 😲 According to at least 9 people, I let go of a very lucrative career opportunity. I had my reasons but those are for another day. Instead, I turned to a Truck Dispatcher Here's how it's going 8️⃣ months after graduation: 1. I haven't had to worry about income. I'm earning comparable to my fellow graduates who have great jobs. 💰 2. I am working more than I would in a 9-5 job, but somehow I am way less drained. The internal satisfaction is priceless. 3. Willingness to learn and try new things is through the roof. Something I had lost during my engineering degree. 4. Overall, I'm much happier than I was during my engineering internship. 😄 If you have made any drastic career changes tell me about it in the comments! Thrilled to share that I've successfully completed my internship as a mechanical engineering student at FORVIA. 🚘 During this enriching journey, I had the privilege of working with an exceptional team and learned valuable insights into various aspects of the manufacturing industry. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my dedicated supervisors for their invaluable guidance and mentorship throughout my time at the company. I was fortunate to be part of different teams and contribute to a range of projects, including witnessing the implementation of new projects from two different companies. This experience allowed me to conduct in-depth analyses of the challenges that can arise during project implementation—a real eye-opener. 📊 I was also actively involved in the maintenance team, where I formulated and delivered comprehensive maintenance plans. I also focused on ensuring the ergonomics of the machines. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to contribute to the digitalization of projects, aligning with the company's advanced digitalization efforts. I developed an app to streamline tasks and track production, making processes more efficient. 💻 In addition, I was a valuable member of the quality management team within the UAP, and I actively participated in the methods and process optimization team, where we embraced principles like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to enhance efficiency and quality. My journey at Faurecia has been an incredible learning experience, allowing me to work with cutting-edge technologies and adhere to industry standards and safety regulations, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF. Ever wonder what it's like to be in the fast lane, both literally and figuratively? Meet the engineering students from Dalhousie University who just shifted their careers into high gear with a work term at Red Bull Racing, one of Formula One's top teams. Yes, you read that right. While most of us were mastering the art of making coffee or photocopying 101 during our internships, these students are helping to fine-tune some of the fastest cars in the world. Imagine walking into your work term and instead of a desk, you're handed designs for a component that will be used in the next Grand Prix. No pressure, right? This is not your average "fetch coffee" internship; it's a deep dive into the high-octane world of Formula One engineering, where the coffee is probably just as fast as the cars. But here's the kicker - it's not just about the speed. These students are at the forefront of innovation, working on sustainability projects to make Formula One greener. Because if there's anything we love more than fast cars, it's a planet we can actually live on to drive those cars. So, hats off to the team at Dalhousie University for securing such a phenomenal opportunity for their students. It's initiatives like these that fuel the next generation of engineers and planet-savers. And who knows? This week marked the beginning of my 2nd Year IT journey. Despite being an Electrical and Electronic Engineering student, I found myself placed in a mechanic garage. But since I firmly believe that no knowledge goes to waste, I'm determined to make the most of my time by learning as much as I can. This week, I learnt more about tires, the different pressure gauges for various automobiles, the proper way to lose tires off a car and how to reattach them, the differences between tubed and tubeless tires, and even how to repair punctures. Additionally, I was introduced to a car's brake system. I was able to understand the functions of components such as brake pads, brake discs, ABS, and so on and how they work together. I further gained more insights into the differences between 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive vehicles, including their respective advantages and disadvantages. And to top it off, I had the opportunity to participate in fixing a car's gear and another car's radiator. It was certainly a stressful week, but I enjoyed it. A hands-on training for some interns was conducted with the veteran engineer at #Greenaqua's factory site. It is a fraction of #Greenaqua's reinforced quality plan. Given the forward-future, from last year, we planned to recruit some interns whose majors are mechanics or mechatronics, based on loads of hands-on training, to foster stronger, backup teams in #waterfilters and #fillingmachines. The training covers the following: First is the safety knowledge regarding connecting electricity, and steps should be paid. 2nd, for tank welding, some more steps and rules should be obeyed when welding: the #tank diameter is in line with the request, tearing the plastic film when welding, ensuring the welding sequence, how to ignite the welding gun, the protection when welding, keeping hands stable when welding, etc. He will teach all of them by phased schedules, ensuring they master the indispensable skills such as #fillingmachines and #waterfilters.

Looking back on my 7-year work journey: It's been 7 years since I started working. My very first salary was 8498 from the company Seco Komos, a supplier for Hyundai cars. I began as a trainee in mechanical engineering. Below the image was my first salary cover, a memorable one. My job was to collect products from the warehouse, plan how to fit materials in the truck, prepare paperwork like invoices, and get approval from my boss before loading the truck. Sometimes I had to work double shifts of 16 hours straight. The big lesson I learned was "It's your responsibility to get the job done." Going from the mechanical engineering industry to digital marketing has been a huge change. But one thing hasn't changed - the need for patience. Some days were boring, discouraging and frustrating. But staying patient helped me keep going. It's been an amazing journey so far, and I'm thankful for the chances to grow my career.
