How Meditation Helped Me Heal 👇 The physical fatigue that comes along with cancer treatment is apparent. But also, mental and emotional damage can be as tough. Being afraid, anxious and uncertain about anything never ends. That’s where mindfulness and meditation came in for me. It wasn’t a cure but was a lifeline. This is how meditation helped me 👇 1️⃣ Tamed the Stress Monster ↪Constant worry can wear you down. ↪Meditation gave me a space to quiet my mind and find moments of peace. 2️⃣ Befriended My Breath ↪Focusing on my breath became an anchor, a way to stay present and manage overwhelming emotions. 3️⃣ Improved Sleep Quality ↪A good night's rest became a luxury during treatment. ↪Meditation helped me fall asleep faster and rest more deeply. It wasn’t always easy. I used to lose concentration, become frustrated and even have unsettling thoughts intruding into my mind. But soon enough I would get better at it. Mindfulness or mediation do not work like magic, but they are some of the best tools for one’s healing process. Remember that mindfulness or meditation is not a destination but rather a journey. Today is World Meditation Day!! Let us strive to make meditation a normal daily activity. It is vital for our well-being and overall mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. It helps you calm down and take a break from the daily chaos and tune in to yourself. It is the simplest, easiest, safest, free (no cost), activity to do and one that helps you grow into a better version of yourself. The benefits of meditation are innumerable. The side-effects are none. Do meditate when you are happy, sad, tired, gloomy, doubtful, angry, depressed, worried, blue, overwhelmed, emotional and at any time of the day. There are no rules, no restrictions, no pre-requisites, no prior knowledge needed and no course or degree to attain. All you need to do is have the intention to connect to your inner guide, to quiet the mind, to restore, refresh, rejuvenate to your normal state of being. There is no complicated process involved. It is as simple as sitting in a cross-legged position on the floor or on a chair as you wish. Just focus on your breath and observe your thoughts. Let them come and go and do not focus on any one thought. The idea is to just simply breathe and observe all that is going on in your head once you are in that state. Do not force anything. Just surrender, let go, release any resistance, go with the flow. Sit in a meditative state for as long as you wish. There is no time restriction. Do it for 5 mins or 1 hour as you please. Regular meditation will give you clarity, connect you to your higher-self, help you receive guidance from the Universe or your angels, guides and masters, help you release anxiety, worry, depression, attachments, addictions, fears, address your shadow self, improve your mental and physical health, make you more creative, help you concentrate and focus, help you sleep better, and so much more. It takes nothing from you and gives you the world of benefits.
