Thank you for sharing friends. Our yoga studio is seeing many of these aspects as well. Yes, low impact is ringing true, getting outdoors and yes indeed, Baby Boomers are a growing student base. Lucky for us, we are in a tourist destination location, so many of our classes are beach yoga classes. Oh and yes, our visiting yogis frequently ask where/who we recommend for hairstylists, manicurists, massage, our fave places to eat, relax, get coffee....

Interesting trends! GOING OUTSIDE, GETTING SUN, & WALKING are so huge for mental wellbeing. SO often getting healthier (and losing weight, too) is about GETTING BACK TO SIMPLER BASICS. We do not always need all the latest vitamins, all the equipment, all the fad diets.. (ALL THE THINGS as they say) - We need to move, be outside, have sunshine! And getting sunshine in the first hour of the day can really help set our circadian rhythm and help us sleep better. When we sleep well, we are stronger and feel better mentally - and sleep is CRITICAL for our health and a healthy weight too. Let's all get more sunshine!

The stat the stood out most about our Boomers: “85% believe that being physically active helps their mental health.” I love that Life Time Inc. has put an emphasis on their ARORA program to keep this generation healthy, active and in community together. The best part: most boomers have more time on their hands to spend at the gym! Thanks for sharing your findings and putting this wellness survey together Mindbody!
