All good things must come to an end, and such is true for the #ISC2Congress 2024, which concluded on several great notes. One of the standout moments was the powerful keynote by Nicole Perlroth “Surviving the Most Complex Cyber Threat Landscape of Our Lifetime.” Her insights on the escalating #cyberthreats and the importance of resilience and vigilance resonated deeply with me. One thing she said that stood out was “It’s not Cybersecurity anymore it’s saving civilization.” This is a perfect sentiment as we continue our #cybersecurityawareness focus this month. #Cybersecurity is everyone’s business and it takes all of us to save civilization. This year’s congress was a phenomenal blend of knowledge sharing, networking, and forward-thinking discussions. I'm glad I attended the Munich Cyber Security Conference last week. I was impressed by the increased diversity of speakers focused on cyber-resilience and digital trust. An increasing number of speakers emphasized that these topics are not just the responsibility of CIO/CISO professionals but of the whole executive team. As Bruce Schneier pointed out, we must look beyond legislation and focus on economic incentives to drive positive behavior.
