Vote to bring our conversation on #AI and #studentvoice to #SXSWEDU! Over the past few months, Minds Matter students across the nation have partnered with our friends at the Center for Public Research and Leadership to share their thoughts on the future of #school (physical and virtual), what role #AI should play in it, and what a #democratic movement to design that future needs to consist of. And now we're ready to take this research to #SXSWEDU! Hear from Minds Matter #students, Minds Matter’s CEO Erika Halstead, and CPRL #researcher Meghan Snyder what students actually want ... and why! So much of the conversation around AI in the classroom is leaves out the student perspective, especially that of #FGLI students. Our research fills some of that gap. We gathered input from students at Minds Matter NYC, Minds Matter Cleveland, Minds Matter Seattle, Minds Matter Houston, Minds Matter Boston, Minds Matter Colorado, Minds Matter Southern California, Minds Matter of Portland, Minds Matter Philadelphia, Minds Matter of Washington D.C., and Minds Matter Chicago. Let's find out what students have to say. Vote, spread the word, and repost! https://lnkd.in/e2zqWzEE

Why do we continue to invest in the development of humanoid robots, despite the apparent limitations of such technology? The answer lies in the current stage of AI and robotics evolution, which is no longer about imitating human emotions or creating machines capable of empathy. The key challenge today is to create a more advanced engineering of the body, maintaining human-like external parameters while developing highly efficient and integrated internal structures. A New Horizon: From Mechanics to Integrated Signal Systems Current humanoid robots primarily rely on electromechanical actuators, which limit their speed, precision, and durability. The next generation of robots, however, should be built using high-throughput materials that function as a unified signal system controlling movement. This approach will allow for ideal kinetics—movements that are more precise and fluid than anything achievable through traditional mechanics or biology. Preserving the Human Form While the external human-like form remains important for interacting with the world—designed by humans for humans—the internal structure of these robots can be fundamentally reimagined. Instead of organs designed to support biological life, robots will be equipped with modular systems capable of energy management, self-regulation, and task execution with maximum efficiency. A New Kind of “Organs” These future robots will be equipped with integrated systems where every component works harmoniously, enabling the machine to adapt and respond to tasks and environments with greater accuracy than any biological organism. Their kinetics and physical performance will far surpass those of humans, as they will no longer be limited by biological constraints. *** Humanoid robots at the next stage of evolution won’t merely imitate humans but will represent a new form of engineering evolution. They will retain human-like external features, making them easier to integrate into human environments, but internally they will be designed on an entirely different basis—a signal system that governs perfect movements. These robots will be capable of performing physically demanding tasks with precision and efficiency, offering new possibilities for interacting with the world. #AI #HumanoidRobots #Robotics #FutureOfAI #EngineeringEvolution #AIInnovation #NextGenRobots #ArtificialIntelligence #AdvancedRobotics #RobotKinetics #TechRevolution #SmartMachines #RobotDesign #AIandRobots #HumanLikeRobots #RobotFuture #SignalSystems #TechInnovation #Automation #AIProgress
🚨 BREAKING: Boston Dynamics and Toyota Research Institute (TRI) have teamed up to advance humanoid robots, focusing on fundamental research rather than commercial goals. Boston Dynamics' Atlas robot offers impressive physical capabilities, while TRI brings AI expertise to enhance robot learning. Together, they aim to create "Large Behavior Models" (LBMs) for robots, similar to how large language models work for natural language. 🧬 The partnership will allow researchers to explore new skills and behaviors for humanoids, collecting data to train these advanced models. Both companies emphasize transparency and aim for long-term, meaningful results in robotics. The pace of the humanoid race is ridiculous! 😮💨 ~~~ ♻️ Repost to help 1 robot find a new workplace. 📬 Subscribe to my newsletter: ziegler.substack.com

Between ai chip development for low-cost/low-power local compute and the rapid advancements in electrohydraulics, power electronics, and other tech that's going to pull down the cost of building robots... I can't agree more with Lukas M. Ziegler that the pace of humanoid development is nuts. The question is which SciFi franchise we'll be living in... Anyone want to brush off their crystal ball? #StarWars droids? #TheForeverWinter mechanized army? #Terminator? ___?
