Replacement for #SCF La Perouse? A new #LNG carrier has been brought in to export #LNG from #Gazprom's 1.5 mtpa #PortovayaLNG production complex near St Petersburg, western Russia. The destination of the #LNGC 'Cool Rover' has not yet been specified. The 'Cool Rover' arrived at #PortovayaLNG's berth on December 26th and, with the help of tugs, was moored alongside the Portovyy floating storage unit (#FSU). What is noteworthy about 'Cool Rover’s arrival at #PortovayaLNG is that this vessel belongs to a foreign shipowner; prior to this, vessels owned by #Sovcomflot, #GazpromFlot and #GazpromNeft Marine Bunker have received #LNG at the plant. Initially, the export of #LNG from the #PortovayaLNG complex was carried out by two #LNGCs - 'Velikiy Novgorod' and 'Pskov', which were engaged in delivering #LNG to import terminals in Greece, and then also in Turkey. The 'Pskov' is currently located in the Mediterranean Sea, likely following the traditional route to the Revithoussa #LNG terminal. The 'Velikiy Novgorod' is likely heading to China and is located in the Luzon Strait between the islands of Taiwan and Luzon (Philippines), the arrival point is not specified, the ETA is December 31. In September 2023 the '#SCF La Perouse' also began #LNG transportation. The 'Velikiy Novgorod' then carried out an experimental voyage along the #NorthernSeaRoute (#NSR) to China and needed a temporary replacement. The '#SCF La Perouse' then also delivered cargo to China, to the same terminal as the 'Velikiy Novgorodi, Tangshan #LNG, but via the #SuezCanal. Subsequently, the '#SCF La Perouse' became involved in #NOVATEK’s logistics scheme with #LNG transshipment off Kildin Island (close to Murmansk) and thus it too required a replacement. Perhaps that is why we've now seen the arrival of the 'Cool Rover'. https://lnkd.in/gTvgnTbX

I previously visited Strata and interviewed Emirati officials and engineers in 2017. After seven years, I returned to the same place to shoot a report on their achievements and how they have developed over the years. As an Arab, I’m so proud of this venture. I’m pleased to see that they now have 30 production lines, compared to just one line in 2010. I'm equally proud of the development of Emirati women, who are taking on more positions behind desks or machines. This achievement is driven by Emirati talents, who make up 68% of the workforce, including 86% female Emiratis. This report will provide more information about this outstanding achievement. P.S.: This should be a great example if you need to know how to build a non-oil economy.

Thurso - Mainland Britain’s Northernmost town… Round up of a recent trip to Thurso below, delivering to a windfarm up near Dounreay Nuclear Power Station. Thurso is further North, from an latitudinal standpoint, than the southernmost point of Norway! It’s a lovely little town, often visited by many tourists travelling the #NC500 tourist route. Nina & I had planned to do the North Coast 500 in the Mustang we bought a few years back, but sadly, it had to go back due to unfathomable problems - #devastated 😭 It’s the furthest north I’ve been in a truck - and what a great journey it is too - 🚛💨 1100 mile round trip. 🚛💨 Approx 24hrs driving We can only run two 10hr extended drives in a week, although those are absolute maximum’s and given the Sunday run out to Inverness for the overnight stop, which was just over a 9hr drive meant I’d used one of those 10hr extended drives anyway. The Truckstop at Inverness was closed, so no facilities for a shower etc, but there is more room now since they extended and tarmacced the surface, so a walk into town to stretch the legs for some food, and then back to bed ready to complete the rest of the journey to Thurso Monday morning. A bit of a delay in getting unloaded due to the site not really being ready for us, but a run back to Newtonmore Truckstop on Monday afternoon, and then the rest of the way home on Tuesday morning. Newtonmore Grill & Truckstop always gets a thumbs up from me, (review coming soon on #MyTruckStop). Because of the delay in unloading, it made sense to stop at Newtonmore on Monday night which meant I didn’t use neither my other 10hr drive or one of my reduced tests (you don’t want to use them all too early in the week - you never know what’s around the corner!!) Home on Tuesday night and then back out with a timber load to Kidderminster on Wednesday. Yet to see what happens tomorrow, but whatever it is, it’s my last day for a fortnight as I’m away to Cape Verde 🇨🇻 tomorrow afternoon for an overnight at Manchester before an early Friday flight. The Story of the 1914 Endurance Expedition In 1914, Sir Ernest Shackleton set out on an expedition to cross Antarctica. Shortly after the journey began, their ship, the Endurance, became trapped in the ice and was eventually crushed, leaving the crew stranded in one of the most inhospitable environments on earth. Despite the dire circumstances, Shackleton's leadership and unwavering optimism kept the team united and motivated. He made critical decisions to ensure their survival, led them through treacherous conditions, and demonstrated remarkable resilience and ingenuity.
