Dear community, We’re thrilled to share that the demolition of our future community wellness hub is set to begin this month! This marks an exciting step towards establishing a space dedicated to health and wellness in Black and Brown communities. Stay tuned for updates on the development process and ways to get involved. We are actively seeking funding and donations through our generous fiscal sponsor, Indigenous Roots, to bring this vision to life. We are proud to be part of the bail reform efforts in Ramsey County. We will soon be launching pretrial navigation services to assist individuals with resources before their first court appearance. More details about this program will be available in September when we launch! Our outpatient treatment program has a few openings. We provide culturally connected, somatic, holistic healing practices that heal intergenerational wounds. We also offer assistance with board and lodge or other housing arrangements. Please reach out to Danielle at DSproule@rwc-mn.com or 612-428-1901 for more information. We also have immediate openings for diagnostic assessments and therapy. Don’t hesitate to contact us!

We are proud to partner on the Community Care Expansion Preservation Capital Projects Grant Program with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and Los Angeles County Development Authority. "This program provides a unique opportunity to stabilize the supply of residential care sites, a critical—and often overlooked—component of the housing support continuum," said William F. Pickel, Chief Executive Officer, Brilliant Corners. "This is a prime example of the importance of public/private partnerships: a unique set of stakeholders—from government, to nonprofit, to philanthropy—have designed a program to support the continuity of these vital facilities, and to ensure that operators most at need for these targeted resources are reached." https://lnkd.in/gq898KRH #brilliantcorners #helpingthehomeless #kindnessmatters #housingfirst #buildingthefuture #bethechange #helpingotherssucceed #housingsector #nonprofit #hiring #nonprofitjobs #housingservices #homelessservices #homelessnessawareness #supportiveservices #permanentsupportivehousing #permanenthousing

"On average, nine out of 10 people in permanent housing remain housed after one year, a success rate Shimkhada attributes to the wraparound services and the program’s philosophy of doing “whatever it takes for as long as it takes” to get and keep people housed..." How can increased investment possibly occur as hospitals are often operating with little to no profit margin, among other financial challenges? Where can hospitals find funding to elevate community health when they often cannot cover operating costs? There is an increasing source of revenue many hospitals are capitalizing on for these increasing health and well-being initiatives. It is called philanthropy. Philanthropy is not a panacea to all challenges faced by hospitals and health systems. However, by harnessing the power of philanthropy, hospitals and health systems can close fair share deficits while making strategic investments in the drivers that determine our individual and collective health. "Voluntary & Community Groups are part of the solution, not the problem." Please sign this petition and be one of the 800 people to help support and save our vital voluntary and community services. Derbyshire County Council is proposing cuts to all it's discretionary funding. This means that key local charities and community organisations which support the health and wellbeing of residents are in danger of closure. At risk are services supporting mental health provision, befriending and lunch clubs, day centres, funding for community groups and important support for charities. Thousands of people who live life with poor physical and mental health, learning difficulties, loneliness and isolation will be left without vital support. Particularly affected will be older people, marginalised communities and the most vulnerable in our society. Derbyshire Voluntary Action are asking the Council to debate in full any proposed cuts to discretionary funding and consider the significant impact to communities if services are reduced. Please sign the petition to voice your concern for the lives of our neighbours. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION - let's show we care! Using the link below: https://lnkd.in/gWb_jYhb We think is it important that a discussion takes place regarding the catastrophic affects to our communities and services if these cuts happen. If this petition receives 800 signatures this should mean: The council will have to debate about the decision to cut funding Refer the petition to the relevant Cabinet Member or Full Council for consideration "The VCSE are part of the solution, not the problem." To learn more about the proposed cuts please visit https://lnkd.in/gZ9AY4r3

Eli's Place and Kyrie Farm share a common mission to establish therapeutic farms for mental health treatment, navigating challenges in public funding, stigma, and operational complexities while exchanging insights and support to advance their respective visions. Dr. Eoin Galavan of Kyrie Farm reached out to Eli's Place, recognizing the shared goal of establishing therapeutic farms to fill gaps in mental health care. While Kyrie Farm has made progress by acquiring a property, Eli's Place is still searching for a suitable location. Despite differences in their respective countries' healthcare systems, both organizations share the struggle of accessing public funding and rely on private donations. We exchanged insights during a Zoom call, discussing outcomes research, innovative design, and admissions criteria. Despite the challenges, we are driven by the shared purpose of providing much-needed mental health care. Quality Tenancy Engagement and Social Impacts & Causes Champion for Midlands Living CIC, with partnership engagement responsibilities.
The Boots Trust funding covers the following objectives, which I believed would be especially ideal for relevant supported housing providers in delivering additional activities with their residents, and in the surrounding residential areas where their properties are established. Health: Community healthcare, such as homecare or support for sufferers of medical conditions, and health education and prevention. Lifelong learning: Local literacy and numeracy projects Community development: For example, supporting councils in providing voluntary services Social care: Personal, social or community activities or schemes. Additionally, a particular focus within each of these priorities is how the projects demonstrate a commitment to improving diversity, equality and inclusion within the community. https://lnkd.in/emDH_xwe

How much does a telephone call to a lonely person cost? We are taking part in the Big Give #Kind2Mind campaign which means if we can raise £5,000 it will be matched, pound for pound. £10,000 will make an enormous difference to us as we’re currently fundraising to keep our Buddy and Befriending project going so we can carry on providing weekly phone called to over 360 lonely and socially isolated people, some of whom don’t hear from anyone else between phone calls. The government published a ‘Loneliness Monetisation Report’ in June 2020, which estimates that the wellbeing cost of moderate to severe loneliness is equivalent to £9,537 per person per year. Therefore: - £21 would fund our Buddy & Befriending programme to provide four friendly phone calls to a lonely or isolated older person. - £250 would fund our Buddy & Befriending programme to provide a friendly, weekly phone call to a lonely or socially isolated person for a year. - £750 would fund our Buddy & Befriending programme to provide a friendly, weekly phone call to around six lonely or isolated older people for six months. - £1,500 would fund our Buddy & Befriending programme to provide a friendly, weekly phone call to around six lonely or isolated older people for a year. We need your help to carry on making these phone calls. Please donate via the link below to help us combat loneliness in our community. Thank you #Kind2Mind #communitysupport #endloneliness #charityfundraising
