Getting ready for our September cohort for Virtual Hand to Shoulder Fellowship, LLC and differential tissue assessment is typically very challenging for learners to grasp. We tend to memorize special tests as early learners, but becoming a specialist means you also understand the mechanics behind the assessment. This level of understanding goes so much further in clinical practice, not just for evaluation, but treatment as well. The fellowship invests quite a bit of time and effort on foundational knowledge because it’s the fundamentals that can make the difference in helping our patients achieve optimal outcomes. It’s also harder to feel burnt out when you know you’re making a positive difference in your patient’s recovery. #handtherapy #handtherapists #occupationaltherapists #physicaltherapists #certifiedhandtherapists #handsurgeons #physiotherapists #lifelonglearners #clinicalexcellence #virtualhandfellowship

4wCannot agree that this maneuver tests tightness of both interosseous and lumbrical. The term “Intrinsic Tighness Test” is a misnomer. The test you demonstrate is the interossous tightness test although passive DIP joint flexion is not included. The lumbrical muscle tightness cannot be tested with a passive test because of its moving origin.
