Job Description: Ops BI - Analyst
Overview:
The BI Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights that support decision-making and enhance business processes. The BI Analyst collaborates with various departments to ensure effective utilization of information systems and technologies, ultimately contributing to the organization's efficiency, productivity, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting and Visualization:
Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present complex data in a comprehensible manner.
Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Utilize statistical methods and tools to extract meaningful insights from data.
Customize reports to cater to different user needs, ensuring the right stakeholders have access to relevant information.
Continuously improve the quality and design of reports to enhance their value and usability.
Strategic Decision Support:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and objectives.
Analyse data to provide insights that aid in strategic planning, process improvement, and decision-making.
Establish data quality standards and protocols to maintain accurate and reliable data.
Monitor data consistency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Implement data governance practices to ensure data security and privacy.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in MIS and data analysis.
Propose and implement process improvements to enhance data management and analysis capabilities.
Participate in cross-functional teams to contribute MIS expertise to broader organizational initiatives.
Required Skills:
1) Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Power BI, MS Access, and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications).
2) Working experience of Power BI to develop and build dashboards based on stakeholder requirements, enhancement/modification to existing dashboards
3) Data mining and Interpretation - Ability to extract, sanitize and streamline large volumes of data from different sources to analyze and identify/ point out trends relevant to service quality, to customer experience, or to efficient delivery of the services.
4) Data visualization and Critical thinking.
Competencies that will be Assessed:
1) Prior experience working with business intelligence tools (Power BI), data modeling, data staging, and data extraction processes. Understanding of Microsoft/ Google analytics.
2) Communicating Effectively.
3) Planning & Organizing Work.
