It’s International Day of Friendship! We all know the positive power of working with great people and seeing your work bestie in the office 💚 But don’t take it from us, take it from our amazing apprentice, Olivia: "I joined our Internal Audit Apprenticeship Programme in September 2020, so during Covid. Not exactly the time anyone thought they’d be making new friends – but it couldn’t have been further from the truth for me. Enter Rachel, Harvey and Kieran who all joined at the same time, and through working on a project together we quickly realised how well we got on and when the social restrictions lifted, we couldn’t wait to meet up. One of our earliest memories was meeting up for drinks near the London office and finally getting to know each other in person. We have made SO many memories together since then. We’ve organised nights out in each of our hometowns, been to festivals, trips away, many, many birthday celebrations and have integrated each other into our friendships outside of work to create a fantastic large group. If anyone out there is considering choosing an apprenticeship scheme but worrying about not getting the full social experience you’d get at University – I would say go for it! You’ll still be around amazing, like-minded people your age. My advice is stay open minded and always make effort to get to know your peers – they could end up becoming your best mates like we did."     Tag your work BFF is the comments and tell us why you appreciate them. 💚

🆕 We’ve announced a new £200 million financing commitment to support local providers who provide housing for those who need it most.   This will focus on those experiencing homelessness or individuals with specific needs.   We hope this will enable small housing providers across the country to increase the number of quality homes they are able to make available for the most in need: https://lnkd.in/eit6mvM3 With our charity partner Crisis, we're calling for the UK to build 1 million more homes for social rent by 2033.

April 2023: We launched our charity partnership with Crisis and pledged to fundraise £2 million in 2 years. July 2024: Our colleagues have so far raised almost £2.5million!
