They’ve distilled the complexities of the hydrogen economy and presented a clear context for its potential growth to a staggering $8 trillion by 2050. The report focuses on four key areas: Hydrogen Production & Carriers: Pioneering new ways to produce and transport hydrogen. Transport Propulsion: Driving the next generation of transport systems. Industrial Use: Harnessing hydrogen for industrial energy needs. Storage Solutions: Innovating reliable storage for hydrogen’s full lifecycle. For the UK, a 10% stake in this burgeoning technology market means triple benefits: Economic Prosperity: Fostering growth and employment. Decarbonisation Efforts: Leading the charge towards #NetZero. Influential Leadership: Steering the global renewable energy dialogue. Kudos to all the contributors, including the Industrial Advisory Board, for paving the way towards a #RenewableEnergy future. We have so many advantages and these include the 4 key areas highlighted in this seminal report from Hydrogen Innovation Initiative Innovate UK This really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help transform the Welsh economy (energy is the foundation of all economies & this is the global direction of travel). And we have to learn the lessons from those past economic opportunities we have lost (especially wind) to reap the rewards which are staring at us in the face. But we have to act really fast because the competition is forging ahead. Do we want to be active players or are we content to be passive comsumers?

The MYPP: A Roadmap for Clean Hydrogen's Future in the US 🦅 Exciting news for clean hydrogen enthusiasts! 🎉 The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) has released its Multi-Year Program Plan (MYPP), outlining a clear path for the development of this critical technology in the US. As the US continues to accelerate its transition to a low-carbon economy, the role of hydrogen in achieving our decarbonization goals cannot be overstated. The recent passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the funding of hydrogen hubs by the Biden administration have sent a strong signal about the importance of hydrogen in our energy future. However, the lack of clarity around the 45V tax credit definition has created uncertainty for industry stakeholders, hindering the progress of hydrogen projects and investments. That's why the release of the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office Multi-Year Program Plan (MYPP) is a critical step forward for the development of the full hydrogen landscape in the US. Here are some key takeaways from the MYPP: - Clean hydrogen can play a vital role in decarbonizing the US economy, reducing emissions by 10% by 2050. 🌎 - The MYPP focuses on three key strategies: 1. De-risking and scaling up technologies across the value chain. 📈 2. Addressing barriers to large-scale adoption. 🔓 3.
