Procopio was ranked 6th for diversity among all U.S. law firms with 101-250 attorneys in Law360’s 2024 Diversity Snapshot! This is the 8th straight year Law360 has recognized Procopio for its attorney diversity. Along with ranking No. 6 for mid-size firms, Procopio was No. 17 among all law firms surveyed. Nearly three hundred law firms qualified for Law360's survey, which focuses on racial and ethnic minority makeup among equity partners, non-equity partners, associates, and other attorneys. Of those surveyed, only 15.6% surpassed the publication’s diversity benchmarks, with Procopio one of those firms. Procopio surpassed most mid-size firms in its percentages in five demographic categories: Hispanic partners and associates; Native American partners and associates; and Asian associates. Jack Womack reports: Bird & Bird has made up 13 partners this year—which is notably less than half of the number of partners that were promoted in 2023. Last year was a record year for the firm, with 29 promotions. Meanwhile, Taylor Wessing has made 18 promotions across its offices—one greater than the equivalent figure from last year. DAC Beachcroft has reduced the number of partners it has decided to promote in 2024—with 11 promotions in total. Last year, the firm made up 14 partners. Meanwhile, Kennedys also unveiled its annual promotions round—adding 17 partners to its ranks, taking the total of partners worldwide to 349. Husch Blackwell formally acknowledged what most #biglawfirms instinctively know; that the majority of the associates that it hires as entry-level associates are not going to "go the distance" and stay and make partner at the firm. Simultaneously, the firm realized that they had a pool of talent within our firm who aspired to transition in-house. That sparked an idea and the creation of a first-of-its-kind professional development program aimed at helping attorneys gain an intimate understanding of in-house roles, as an extension of its commitment to client success? The program is aimed at providing attorneys with an inside view of legal department roles and responsibilities, and paving the way for those interested in moving in-house to do so successfully. The firm is trying to place these attorneys with firm clients. A win-win.
