Patient and surgeon needs are always evolving, which is what pushes us to continue innovation. Such was the case back in 2013 when we introduced the ProAxis® Spinal Surgery Table to the world and advanced patient positioning for intraoperative adjustments of the lumbar spine. That innovation continued when we launched the Trios® Surgical Table System in 2015 and followed it up with the Levó® Head Positioning System in 2017. Enhancing safety, increasing control, and bettering outcomes for surgical spine patients. This is what it means to bring innovation to the table.

"Jackson's Table" usually refers to a specialized surgical table designed by Dr. Henry V. Jackson. The table is designed to provide optimal positioning for patients undergoing spine surgeries. It allows for adjustments in various directions to facilitate surgical access and patient comfort. Benefits: •Enhanced Surgical Access: The adjustability of the table allows surgeons to access the surgical site more easily, which can improve the precision and outcomes of the surgery. •Improved Patient Safety: Secure and stable positioning reduces the risk of patient movement, which can lead to complications. •Intraoperative Imaging: The radiolucent properties of the table enable continuous imaging during surgery without repositioning the patient, thereby enhancing the surgeon's ability to monitor and adjust as needed.

Day Case Breast Surgery 2nd Edition The aim of this handbook is to provide practical and evidence-based advice to support development of a day case service and where an overnight pathway is in place, stimulate consideration of why these cannot be managed on a day case basis. It covers the management of both oncoplastic and non-oncoplastic procedures at all stages of the patient pathway and shows how clinical outcome and patient experience audit can be incorporated into practice. Dr. Dan Witmer, one of our leading hip replacement specialists, recently presented impactful research (alongside Rob Magaldi and Sara Strecker) at the Northeast Arthroplasty Conference, winning 1st place for their poster presentation! Their study focused on the effects of GLP-1 agonists medications on patients undergoing total hip replacement. The key takeaway? These medications can increase the risk of PONV after surgery. Based on this research, our new protocols at BJI and our surgery center recommend stopping these medications one week before surgery to minimize PONV in patients. This research is ongoing and the groups will be re-studied later this year to learn the outcome. #arthroplasty #research #patientcare #OAHCT #MakeYourMove

Endoscopic keyhole surgery of the spine is a minimally invasive surgical technique that uses specialized video cameras and instruments to perform spinal surgery through small incisions¹. The procedure is performed through a small incision, usually less than 1 cm, and utilizes intraoperative X-ray to pass a small needle to the area of interest within the spinal canal, such as a herniated disc. Then, using small guidewires, dilators are sequentially inserted with minimal disruption to normal tissue³. This technique is most useful for patients with disk protrusions, especially foraminal and extraforaminal disk protrusions, where the standard approach
