Spain's white wine landscape is undergoing a notable transformation, emerging from the shadows of its celebrated reds. This renewed focus on Spanish white wines is not just a fleeting trend but a shift towards recognizing their potential on the global stage. At the forefront of this revolution is the albariño grape, native to the #RíasBaixas region in #Galicia in northwestern Spain. Albariño has become synonymous with crisp, refreshing white wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. "The country offers a large diversity of wines, and there has been a strong focus on enhancing the quality and identity of its white wines," Arthur de Lencquesaing, international director of the Marqués de Murrieta Estates & Wines, tells Forbes. “In the specific case of Rías Baixas, we need iconic producers to help create a new dynamic.” “Today, most wine collectors and top restaurants have understood that Spanish white wines could have a very nice presence within their finest wine selections,” he says. We're thrilled to see Domaine Anderson winemaker Darrin Low recognized in Wine Spectator as a Chardonnay star helping shape the California landscape, "inspiring enthusiasm about Chardonnay and committed to its future." Three hours north of San Francisco in Mendocino's Anderson Valley, Domaine Anderson "has remained relatively under the radar since its inception in 2012. Winemaker Darrin Low joined the team in 2016, bringing with him a fresh take. “Stylistically, I’ve found it both challenging and liberating to work with these organic estate vineyards and parcels,” says Low, 55. “I’ve learned that each site has specific tendencies and needs, which allows me to coax the best qualities from each vineyard.
