“When somebody figures out the right answer to the question: How are you doing today? Please. Let me know.” Think about it. When someone asks you this question, do you immediately think of the good things in your day? Maybe you give the bland, “fine” or “good” response like most. Sometimes, people don’t even respond at all! The simple greeting, while well-intentioned, often doesn’t actually create a meaningful interaction with the recipient. The example in this video may have been given to healthcare professionals, but this “brain pattern interrupt” can be applied to any industry and more importantly, to our personal lives. We were engaged to design and deliver a series of briefings for a leading global charity who support and educate GPs across the UK to improve the early diagnosis and prevention of cancer. The first session focused on psychological behaviour and the engagement of people through change. Through a mix of education, reflection and a touch of action planning, we helped the team to explore the way people may react to their current situation and its challenges to help inform their messaging and actions. The second session focused on top tips for engaging with people virtually. Throughout the session we focused on what the Facilitator Team could do to get the most from virtual engagement with their partners. We explored how to get the basics right technically and logistically, how to communicate professionally and how to maximise the engagement of their audiences. #WhyWharton #Change #ProBono
