Last year I was lucky enough to go the Development Trusts Association Scotland conference and the final session was based around Thriving Community-Led Networks, with Lesley Riddoch and Søren Hermansen. I'm delighted that Findochty and Buckie Development Trust and the Moray Local Action Group, Third Sector Interface Moray (tsiMORAY) have been able to bring 'Denmark: The State of Happiness' to Moray. You can join us to see the film, followed by a Q&A session with Lesley in Elgin Town Hall For The Community Ltd at 7pm on Thursday 11 April, tickets are £5 and can be booked here https://lnkd.in/gyE5B_sE

🙂💡What is Coproduction and why does it matter? Coproduction is a term that describes an equal partnership between service users and service providers. It means that people facing or experiencing homelessness in West Sussex have a voice and a choice in the services they receive from Turning Tides, so we can support them to rebuild their lives. Coproduction or as we call our team, Partnership and Coproduction Team (PACT) is not only fair, but also effective, as it leads to better outcomes and experiences for everyone involved. 🤝 🙋♀️To learn more about Coproduction, please click here > https://lnkd.in/eCQSyUqa #TurningTides #Coproduction #EndingLocalHomelessness

Child First is an amazing tool to support organisations to embedd a culture that understands, recognises and responds to trauma. We have to deliver this through the principles of being trauma informed and put on our rauma informed glasses.... #wytraumainformed2030

What is stopping the City of Warner Robins from paying HOTEL rooms TO SHELTER the HOMELESS? What is stopping the Mayor from opening up a school gym, to get homeless men, women, and children out from the cold? Warner Robins has the money to do so, but it will not spend it on the poor; it will not spend it to revitalize poverty-stricken areas: like Green Street. Communities that show up at the polls -to VOTE- gets the most dollars. But let's not forget: The poor in Warner Robins has NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. Poor non-drivers would have to get Lyft or Uber, to get to the polls. Enough with the excuses! Sister Dina 404-407-0213

Did you know that NLC launched the Municipalities Reimagining Community Safety (MRCS) initiative in 2022? With reducing crime being a political priority for many Americans, the MRCS initiative was created to invest in local action to reduce and prevent violence while advancing new visions for safety in communities. One of these visions includes Group Violence Intervention (GVI), an impactful strategy to reimagine public safety. So what does GVI look like? Read our new post — and attend our open meeting on Aug. 22 — to learn more. https://bit.ly/3Aq3I0I
