We’re excited to announce the launch of our new communities, new clubs, new resources and new website designed by Amanda Barmash, whom we were fortunate to connect and leverage Catchafire to find top level nonprofit expert volunteers at Modern Widows Club | The Movement for Widow Care (MWC). Check out our new website here: https://lnkd.in/d7uQFZF Amanda began as a skills based volunteer with our detailed website feasibility audit and, then, we contracted her to build our website. Within 90 days, she delivered an incredible site that makes it easier for our #widow community to find the resources they need. Many #widows face challenges like brain fog, so having a user-friendly site with clear calls to action is essential. We highly recommend Amanda for your next project! 💛🙌🏼 https://lnkd.in/eB_YSgfS Tell her we sent you!! 💛 #nonprofit #website #audit #skillsbasedvolunteering #civicengagement #webdesign #widowhood #support #impact #publichealth #womenshealth #gap #grief #growth #widowsupport

MEDIA ALERT – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Deborah Marshall to Receive Prestigious Modern Widows Club | The Movement for Widow Care (MWC) 2024 Legacy Award. Winter Park, FL. Presentation of the Award to Deborah is Thurs, October 24 at a luncheon at the Heathrow Country Club in Lake Mary, Florida. Each year MWC presents the Legacy Award to individuals or organizations that exemplify extraordinary dedication to empowering widows and uplifting their communities on a global scale. Recipients of this prestigious honor demonstrate unparalleled excellence, embodying the highest virtues of nobility, humility, compassion and resilience. They are paragons of heroic leadership, consistently going above and beyond in their service to others. Their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to making a profound difference in the lives of widows and their communities sets them apart as true beacons of hope and inspiration. “We are honored to recognize Deborah, a local hero, with this national award,” said MWC Founder Carolyn Moor. Deborah is the COO of the AmFund- American Fundraising Foundation, a national organization based in Maitland, Florida and Administrator of the American Fundraising Educational Foundation, a Federally recognized 501(c)3 organization where she oversees funding support for over 700 nonprofit organizations across the country. AmFund, with its tagline “We Fund Your Cause,” has raised nearly $60 million for various charitable initiatives. Her career began in the creative hub of Hollywood’s cinematic industry, where she gained recognition as one of the leading creators of the iconic “Who Shot JR” advertising campaign for Panavision. She later transitioned into the highly competitive world of real estate redevelopment, where she continued to demonstrate her strategic prowess. Deborah’s deep understanding of the challenges faced by nonprofit organizations in securing funding and navigating grant cycles led to her being named Fundraiser of the Year by Nonprofit Pro in 2020. During the pandemic, when nonprofits were forced to pivot to virtual events, Deborah spearheaded the development of educational programs, digital platforms, and production tools that enabled organizations to thrive despite the rapidly changing landscape. Deborah has been a #widow since December 1, 2022, following the passing of her husband of 25 years and is a resident of Lake Mary, Florida. Media Contact: Carolyn Moor at developmentdirector@modernwidowsclub.org The Modern Widows Club is a 509a2 public charity supporting widows around the country with tools, information, support and help in navigating essential services. Shockingly, the average age of widows is 59. Many are left struggling financially, emotionally and physically, at times working 2 jobs to make ends meet for themselves and often for their young children. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities can be purchased: https://lnkd.in/d2cTKCD or by calling 1-844-4-A-WIDOW.
