Empowering growth through true partnership means having a good system powering us on the backend. How do we manage big projects behind-the-scenes and alongside our stakeholders? 🤔 Our answer to making it work and delivering stellar solutions across multiple disciplines is Agile (and, of course, a top in class team). Hear more from our very own Rebekkah Hilgraves on how utilizing this methodology can make a big impact 👇 Agile project management was introduced some years ago as a way to accelerate project completion and is an excellent framework for the kinds of work that lend themselves to rapid iterative development. We tell "user stories" that help us shape the work in very deliberate, achievable ways: "As a [stakeholder], I want to [carry out a specific task] so I can [achieve a specific goal]." Each story is written in such a way that a team member can complete it within a prescribed time period (a sprint of about two weeks or so). We calculate level of effort (story points), and the framework guides us to take in a limited number of story points per sprint so that we can remain efficient. It's a good system! Here's why: 💡 Client Engagement 💡 Flexibility 💡 Concurrent Development 💡 Collaborative Development 💡 Focus & Accountability Once accustomed to the planning-review-retrospective cycle and to the daily stand-ups that are designed to help keep the entire team up to date (including asking for help!), Agile teams settle into a good, smooth cadence and client stakeholders have a better, more visible experience. 🚀 #digitalmarketing #projectmanagement #agile #efficiency #process #b2b

Unlocking Team Productivity: A Hybrid Approach to Estimation As a seasoned leader in software development, I've personally witnessed the critical role of accurate estimation in driving team productivity. By adopting a hybrid approach that combines Story Points and Days Estimation, we can achieve more accurate forecasts, enhance flexibility, and improve stakeholder communication. Understanding Story Points and Days Estimation Story Points: A relative measure of effort, Story Points are used to estimate the complexity and size of user stories. They are typically assigned based on team consensus and can be adjusted as needed. Pros: Flexible, adaptable to changes, focuses on value, fosters collaboration. Cons: Can be subjective, requires an initial learning curve, and may not be easily understood by non-technical stakeholders. Days Estimation: A more concrete approach, Days Estimation involves estimating the specific number of days required to complete a task. Pros: Provides clear timelines, facilitates stakeholder communication, and is familiar to many project managers. Cons: Can be inflexible, may not accurately account for uncertainties, and can lead to pressure for deadlines. The Power of a Hybrid Approach By combining Story Points and Days Estimation, teams can leverage the strengths of both techniques while mitigating their weaknesses. A hybrid approach offers several key benefits: Improved Accuracy: By combining relative and time-based estimation, teams can achieve more accurate forecasts. Enhanced Flexibility: The hybrid approach allows teams to adapt to changes and uncertainties while maintaining a clear timeline. Enhanced Stakeholder Communication: By providing relative and time-based estimates, teams can effectively communicate with stakeholders with different preferences. Improved Team Alignment: A hybrid approach can help teams better align on project goals and expectations. By adopting a hybrid estimation approach with strategic daily Scrum meeting adjustments, we've seen a significant boost in our team's productivity and overall project success. ⚙️Agile estimation: ------------------------------ ❓ Higher the story points higher the complexity and increased timeline to execute each task. Isn't it? Not necessarily. While higher story points can indicate greater complexity, they don't always directly correlate with increased time to execute each task. Here's why: ✔️ Relative Estimation: Story points are a relative measure of complexity and effort compared to other tasks. A task with higher story points may indeed be more complex, but it doesn't necessarily mean it will take longer to complete than a task with lower story points. It just indicates that it's more challenging relative to other tasks. ✔️ Team Efficiency: A highly skilled and efficient team might be able to tackle tasks with higher story points more quickly than less experienced teams. Factors like team composition, skill levels, and familiarity with the technology stack can influence how long it takes to complete tasks. ✔️ Dependencies and Unknowns: Tasks with lower story points might have hidden complexities or dependencies that aren't immediately apparent during estimation. Conversely, tasks with higher story points might turn out to be straightforward once the team starts working on them. Story points help in capturing this uncertainty and variability. #Agile #Businessanalyst #Product #productplanning

𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 It’s no secret that client needs and project requirements are constantly evolving. That’s why adopting an #𝗔𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗲A𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 has been a game-changer—not just for #digitalProjects, but for a wide range of initiatives I've managed. With the Agile method, the focus is on flexibility, #collaboration and continuous improvement. Instead of sticking to a rigid plan, teams work in 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 (specific set of tasks or features) - delivering small, tangible results every step of the way. At the same time, the Agile methodology is not reserved for #𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 or 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀. It can also be applied to #𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺M𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, #𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀D𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, or even #𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰P𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. Wherever there's a need for flexibility, continuous feedback and the ability to pivot, the Agile method adds considerable value. It encourages collaboration, keeps stakeholders involved and ensures that every project can adapt to change without losing momentum. For example, I was in charge of a communication and awareness campaign for an international client. At the beginning, the project was clearly focused, with pre-defined strategies and objectives. But halfway through, we faced a challenge: market dynamics had changed, new opportunities had emerged, and the client's goals had evolved. What had been a straightforward campaign required us to pivot quickly and adapt our approach to meet new needs. This is where #Agile really came into play. By working in short sprints and conducting regular reviews, we were able to continually introduce and apply new strategies, including outreach activities that weren't part of the original plan. Rather than being locked into a rigid structure, agile methods allowed us to remain flexible and incorporate real-time feedback from stakeholders. We were able to refine messages, target new audiences, and even rethink certain digital elements of the campaign on the fly. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲. This approach has 𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. The power of Agile lies in its ability to help us all thrive in uncertainty, driving projects forward with clarity, transparency, and purpose. #ProjectManagement #Scrum #DigitalTransformation #Leadership #Sprints #ClientSatisfaction #BusinessAgility #Innovation #RemoteWork #DigitalMarketing

Digital Transformation: Shaping the Future of Work In the dynamic landscape of project management and corporate culture, Agile methodologies present a stark contrast to traditional 'waterfall' strategies. The latter, often visualized through linear and orderly Gantt charts, presupposes a predictable and controllable environment. This may be suitable for static projects like bridge construction, but it falters in the face of volatile supply chains and workforce fluctuations. The need for adaptability is even more pronounced in the sphere of digital service development and tech implementation, where uncertainties loom large. Core Principles and Strategic Practices: 1. User Focus: Elevate user needs as the cornerstone of your initiatives. Adopting a human-centric design philosophy ensures your offerings resonate with the varied preferences and requirements of your clientele, delivering an intuitive and frictionless experience. 2. Progressive Iteration: Adopt a nimble Agile mindset, segmenting objectives into manageable sprints and continuously integrating feedback at each stage. This cyclical process guarantees ongoing enhancement and alignment with your end-goals. 3. Cross-functional Synergy: Assemble a versatile team encompassing roles such as product manager, delivery manager, business analyst, service designer, and software engineer to tackle intricate challenges with finesse. 4. Democratic Participation: Flourish within egalitarian, streamlined organizational structures that promote uniform contribution and engagement across all team echelons. 5. Transparent Communication: Maintain a transparent dialogue within Agile groups. Regularly share updates and developments with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients. This includes tech demos, internal showcases, and narrative updates for both in-house and public audiences. Such openness cultivates enthusiasm, secures support, and minimizes ancillary reporting demands. #Agile #ProjectManagement #DigitalTransformation #Teamwork
