Let's talk Warehousing. #logistics | #supplychain

#suezcanal #nearshoring #shipping #disruptions #logistics #supplychain #outoftheboxthinking #opportunity #alternatives #airfreight #recalibrate If the above hashtags can tell a story, it cannot be more realistic than in the shared article from #reuters We saw how the global #seafreight reactions impacted #business post #covid19, and a similar response seems to ongoing with the current crisis in the waters connecting the two hemispheres. It is quite interesting to note that there has been no #planb to the 154 year old connection through the Suez Canal, now faced probably due to the growth of #globalization and #ecommerce The extensive developments and transformation on the #multimodal logistics, in several regions of the world has not been able to change the traditional model which has supported trade since the previous millennium. Logistics thrives both in crisis and growth as the saying goes. However, this has been disrupted in such a way that the solution lies in an alternative approach, to bring the #industry or the #producer closer to the #consumer. The biggest impact is faced by #food and #fmcg industry and the #retail sector with rising #freight costs, diminishing #inventory and urgent need of time bound products. Can the adoption of #ai #automation #esg and #climatechange initiatives bring about a change in the way global economies produce and consume? Or is it just another day?
