Two companies, SpaceVIP and Space Perspective, are teaming up to give people a dining experience in space. For around $500,000, customers will ride on a space balloon to the edge of space and enjoy a meal created by chef Rasmus Munk from the famous Alchemist restaurant. This space balloon, called Spaceship Neptune, will start testing next month and plans to carry customers by 2025. Up to six people can fly together, reaching an altitude of about 19 miles while dining and watching the sunrise. During the trip, passengers can use WiFi to share their experience with people on Earth. Chef Munk's menu will include fancy food inspired by space, like aerogel-inspired foof and encapsulated aroma. Even though Spaceship Neptune doesn't reach outer space, it still offers a unique view of Earth. However, it's expensive, and the experience is mainly for wealthy people. Other space tourism companies also offer similar experiences, but they're costly too. Space balloons like Spaceship Neptune are safer and slightly cheaper compared to traditional rocket-powered space travel.
