Just came across Time's Top 500 Sustainability Companies list, and it's an insightful step in evaluating companies' sustainability practices. However, with the top score at 88 out of 100, it raises questions about our progress in sustainability efforts. Reflecting on my college days, scoring in the 80s meant average performance, not excellence. Top achievers were consistently in the High 90s. What does it signify when the leading company on the list only achieves 88.86? 🤔 This score underscores the significant room for improvement in our sustainability journey. 🌍 Exciting news from the sustainability front! The TIME recently listed the World's Most Sustainable Companies 2024, highlighting the steps businesses are making towards a greener future. We are honoured to have been named one of the 100 most sustainable companies in the world by TIME Magazine!   The rankings, which were released this week by the American news magazine and Statista, surveyed over 5,000 of the world’s largest and most influential companies. Each was evaluated on criteria that included external sustainability ratings, adherence to the UN Global Compact and alignment with the Science Based Targets initiative.   As a part of our Better Places plan, URW has pledged to reach carbon neutrality on scopes 1 & 2 by 2030, and across all scopes by 2050, including achieving -90% GHG emission reduction on scopes 1 & 2 by 2030, and -90% on scopes 1, 2 & 3 by 2050. Other targets include implementing renaturation projects on 100% of our assets, recycling 70% of our waste and reducing water consumption intensity by 20%, all three by 2030 (vs. 2019).   A huge thank you to TIME Magazine and Statista for launching this initiative and providing a clear benchmark for us and other companies to continue our environmental transition. We’re proud to have been included in TIME Magazine’s World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2024 list 🙌   The global data and business intelligence platform Statista and Time Magazine have identified the World’s Most Sustainable Companies. They have gone through a comprehensive selection process from a pool of over 5,000 of the world's largest and most influential companies, assessed based on factors such as revenue, market capitalization, and public prominence. The assessment involved the consideration of over 20 key data points, such as CDP score, alignment with GRI and SASB, emissions and energy intensity and employee turnover and work safety.   These companies underwent a rigorous 4-step process to identify the top 500, among which we’re also proud to be included as #410.   “We are extremely proud of this recognition in the top 500 and also other recognitions we have received this past spring, like ranking in the Financial Times Europe’s Climate Leaders list, getting Platinum level sustainability rating from EcoVadis, and achieving CDP’s A- rating for our climate actions. The work and efforts we’re putting into sustainability are really paying off and transforming Fiskars Group for the long term”, says Fiskars Group’s CEO Nathalie Ahlström.   Fiskars Group has two sustainability commitments:   ☑️ Pioneering design against throwaway culture: We want to offer inspiring and disruptive alternatives for throwaway culture, and take climate action by reducing emissions in line with science-based targets.   ☑️ Making the everyday extraordinary: We make the everyday extraordinary and create positive experiences for our stakeholders. Time Magazine and Statista: Elisa now world’s 66th most sustainable company Elisa, press release, 25 June 2024  Time Magazine and Statista have today published the first comprehensive global list of the world's most sustainable companies, based on key sustainability assessments and sustainability reporting frameworks. Elisa is ranked 66th on the World's Most Sustainable Companies Top 500 list, and best among Finnish companies. The companies that made the list are from more than 30 countries, including 13 companies from Finland. “This global recognition is an indication that Elisa has emerged as one of the world's leading companies also from the sustainability point of view. It is also testament to Elisa’s 15 years of commitment to working for a sustainable future. However, the most important thing is that sustainability is genuinely at the heart of our strategy and an essential part of our mission – a sustainable future through digitalisation”, says Elisa's CEO Topi Manner. Elisa is committed to the UN Global Compact, promoting a secure digital environment, equality and ethical business, and mitigating climate change. “We promote sustainable development in society by developing sustainable digital solutions and reducing the negative impacts of our own operations. Earlier this year, Elisa ranked among the 100 most sustainable companies in the world on the Corporate Knights Global 100 list. In addition, MSCI, which assesses corporate responsibility globally, raised Elisa's ESG rating to the highest level, AAA, and the global environmental non-profit CDP raised Elisa's climate reporting to the A List in recognition of its leading role in transparency and climate change action.
