I'm very pleased to announce that our "Resilient and Sustainable Buildings" book was published by the American Society of Civil Engineers. This book reflects four major National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded projects that focused on different aspects of building resiliency and sustainability from single buildings to large communities. The book was sponsored by the SPEED committee of the Infrastructure Resilience Division of ASCE. I want to extend sincere appreciation for the efforts of our lead editor John van de Lindt and my other co-editors, Mehrdad Sasani and Gordon Warn, to make this book a reality. I also would like to thank my chapter co-authors, Madeleine Flint and Adrian Rodriguez-marek, for their intellectual contributions and constructive feedback. I also want to acknowledge our project co-PIs, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers who shaped the project.
