NZ could learn from this. So simple and so effective.
✨With now four locations across the Netherlands, these Bubble Barriers have a catch rate of 86% of floating plastic pollution in a waterway, and can even catch microplastics as small as 1 millimetre! ✨Limiting plastic production and use is of course the best way to stop plastic from reaching our oceans, but these Bubble Barriers offer a great solution for cleaning up the waterways of bustling cities. ✨They are also safe for fish migration, working to not disrupt marine ecosystems. ✨VC : goinggreenmedia

Such a seemingly simple solution to a grand problem. I am sure it takes a lot of modeling, planning, and implementation to determine where to place these barriers to have the most catchment and ensure that the trash has a whole process after being caught.

It's all in the details. 🔍 Plastic Reef by Fedrico Uribe is more than an exhibit, it's a call to action. When taking a closer look, what appears to be a vibrant underwater ecosystem is thousands of carefully arranged pieces of post-consumer plastic. An estimated 33 billion pounds of plastic end up in our oceans each year, injuring and killing sea turtles and other marine life. LMC continues to advocate for the protection of our oceans, recovering nearly 5,000 pounds of trash from the South Florida coastline. 3moI like this! Let's start with single-use disposable containers like cheap water bottles. Doesn't everyone have a Stanley yet? And when did we go from a society that drank out of a random garden hose to one that can't function without a phone in one hand and a water bottle in the other?
