Spring is around the corner, even here in Sweden, and a second season of rigorous winter testing soon completed! Our world's first, patent pending, unmanned mobile marine fuel station delivers next level environmental safety, complies with the same safety standards as on land and is verified by class-leading certification bodies such as DNV and TÜV. Superior capacity, designed to handle any type of liquid fuel, including #HVO (XTL) and e-fuels, with six separate tanks to handle the more complex fuel mix that will inevitably be needed to handle the transition into more #sustainable #boating, as identified in the recent "Propelling our future" report by ICOMIA. Oh, and did we mention it handles ice? 🧊😉 Inbox to discuss future-proofing the fuel infrastructure for your port, harbor or marina and freeing up valuable real estate.

Industrial stacks undergo numerous inspections to ensure operational safety. Regular visual inspections are conducted several times a year. If a visual inspection detects potential issues like corrosion or cracking, a more detailed analysis is initiated. This is when ultrasonic testing (UT) is utilized. Read the full case study of a drone stack inspection with the Elios 3 UT from Flyability here: https://lnkd.in/eiAjQjRG #Flyability #UltrasonicTesting #Elios3UT #Corrosion #CaseStudy

Thanks Marina World magazine for a great feature of our unmanned mobile marine fuel station in the latest issue, published yesterday, which is a special focus issue on Environmental Products & Projects. The issue also features a great editorial by Carol Fulford called "Fuel for thought" - stressing the importance of drop-in fuels to address the emissions from recreational crafts. The issue also highlights the recent study "Propelling our future" by ICOMIA. Link to the issue in the first comment.

The 2024 Port of the Future Conference will host representatives from over 50 ports worldwide. For the list of participating ports access https://lnkd.in/gggupzrB . Aging infrastructure, incident impact, security threats, hull condition, hypoxia, etc. The maritime industry often has a good handle on what happens above the water line, but what about below? Historic weather events and international conflicts can change safe routes of navigation overnight. Clean water as a global resource is becoming more scarce everyday globally as hypoxic conditions, dead zones for marine life, continue to grow. Use of divers and other manual operations to define underwater conditions is costly, often adds significant risk, takes additional time to manually generate technical reports, and takes time away from operations. Current technologies generate high-resolution data for surface and sub-surface hazard and threat definition. Using small un-crewed vessels such as Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) with real-time displays affords instant high-resolution feedback gathered from a safe distance. Combined, these technologies define conditions to reduce diver/human cost and risk for hull inspections, provide mapping of hypoxic (dead zones for marine life) and bacteria-infested waters, analyze sediment buildup and quality for removal of structures, and aid in client compliance efforts. MerLion offers safe, timely, and cost-efficient USV and ROV systems easily deployed to provide critical data supporting decisions affecting safety, security, and ecological sustainability. #ROVs #USV # UnmannedSurfaceVessels #ports #future #portofthefuture #portoperations #shipping #maritime #scports #irprt #porthouston #texasports #maritimeindustry #portassociationoflousiana @ShipNews #VirginiaMaritimeAssociation @PortoftheFutureConference

The post was made on 11.01.2022 Iwrm-Kosovo 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐌𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 Understanding what is and isn’t present in our #waters is one of the first steps toward #developing water protection and distribution policies. Regular sampling of surface waters allows MESPI/environmental managers including inspectors to better understand how water bodies change in response to #pollution and how to protect them. For this reason, the MESPI and IWRM-K Program agreed for the latter to equip the MESPI with a drone as a low-cost data collector in a long run. To put the drone into function, the IWRM-K Program has engaged an expert to provide training in drone operation, maintenance, and application. #SwissAgencyforDevelopmentandCooperation #SkatConsultingLtd. #Umweltbundesamt #EnvironmentAgencyAustria #ujeperkosoven

TRAM INSPECTION IN WINTER CONDITIONS Trams run in all types of weather conditions. Do you have a drone that is winterized? Have you flown in the snow before? If you were responding to an RFP to provide monthly tram inspections in a very northern city where snow, freezing rain and ice were common challenges, (1) how would you demonstrate your expertise in flying in wintery conditions and (2) what would your drone maintenance documentation include?

Yesterday was the first time I've used a drone for inspecting a cable system. Dynamic textile cables can be installed to reduce the risk of tree failures. They can be a viable management strategy, usually combined with other practices, to reduce risk to a tolerable level. However they are not "set and forget". Annual inspections of cables are advisable to check if the system is functioning correctly. The tree is a Canary Island pine Pinus canariensis and the cable is about 27m above ground. Over the last 5 years, I've had difficulty installing a lifeline in this tree, so the drone certainly saved time and with the added bonus of reducing risk. It was a bit tricky with the little drone constantly buffeted by the wind in a dense canopy but I think it was successful. Until I hit a branch! Luckily the drone had a very soft fall in a garden bed without damage. A learning curve.

What would be even more innovative would be a power system that didn't require: powerlines. Just connect a CTP system directly to one's home. There's an idea. #newscience #alternativeenergy #cleanenergy #renewableenergy #CTPEnergy
