🤯 Funding Micromobility in the way it was done, was a crap idea seen in hindsight, according to Olaf Sakkers, VC at RedBlue Capital. In my latest interview of him for Zag Daily he brought up the following points: 🏋🏻 That Micromobility is asset-heavy, and was funded like a SaaS company, with sky-high valuations. 📈 How Micromobility tried to follow Ubers playbook with blitzscaling, and if people’s irrationality around escooters is partly due to that, it was a huge mistake. 💣 He spoke of political errors by operators in Paris leading to current conditions and regulations. 💡 But other than being a bit of a bombshell interview on Micromobility, I really appreciate Olaf’s take on mobility investing and where the industry is going.
