Moravian University Doctor of Physical Therapy’s Post

Moravian Faculty Spotlight Saturday! Christina Wood, PT, DPT is an adjunct faculty member in the Moravian DPT program. Dr. Wood currently co-teaches DPT 780 Functional Mobility and DPT 875 Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Assistive Technology. She previously co-taught DPT 711 Applications of Neuroscience in Physical Therapy. Dr. Wood earned her bachelor’s degree from DeSales University and her clinical doctorate of physical therapy (DPT) from Widener University. Dr. Wood shares that she decided to become a physical therapist, “to help people reach their full potential. My specialty area is neuro. I decided on neuro as my focus area because I love the complexity of neuro cases and love that I can make a difference in a patient life to maximize their function in order to reach their functional goals.” When asked what drew her to teaching and, specifically, teaching at Moravian, Dr. Wood communicates, “I want to support the next generation of therapists! [I want to] share my physical therapy knowledge to assist with teaching new therapists best practices. Moravian has an outstanding program and I wanted to support their DPT program!” Dr. Wood says that her favorite thing about Moravian DPT students is “their passion and dedication to learning best practices. Their drive for learning and overall excellence is evident! It is an honor to be a part of their DPT education journey.” Dr. Wood’s advice to PT students entering DPT school is to “be eager and passionate about learning!” Further, Dr. Wood encourages recent DPT graduates “to always be a lifelong learner. Seek out learning opportunities to better serve your patients and maximize outcomes.” Dr. Wood—we are so appreciative of your passion and enthusiasm for physical therapy and moving our field forward. We are lucky to have you!
